So not even 1 week in the Govt is exposed using their playbook of -lie,deny,-then lie again.

Luxon told the nation that Labours smokefree legislation would mean only 1 outlet in Northland could sell tobacco products.

His right hand man ,former Philip Morris Tobacco coy lobbyist, doubled down on Q&A this morning.

It was pointed out that the real number is 35 outlets...not 1...(35  is 34 more than..1)

This information is easily available online.

A harbinger of the M.O of this coalition of calumny.Sad.NZ deserves...better.😬

Who cares?  There was still going to be some towns left with one outlet.  Hell, a 91% reduction in Northland would have put some pressure on those left!  At the end of the day instead of debating the minutiae why not debate the outcomes?  Although I guess you are on the side of the Gangs.  The main point is the legislation wouldn't have had unintended consequences.  The left lot never get that.  Remember lockdowns?

Who cares?Only people who care about the..truth..I guess.🙄

How do you know the outcomes?🤨

Pharmacies selling ephedrine will be welcomed by the gangs and their old homebake...cooks.

Lockdowns occurred all over the world and were endorsed by National.

I'm hoping Chief will add a "yawn" emoji. I'll just put it on automatic with your posts H.R.

It's getting to the stage I'm getting worried you may hurt yourself by banging your head into a wall repeatedly. Hopefully you still have some Arnica left.

Are you sure you're not a spokesman for the Labour Party? if so, you know the election is over. Would you like me to repeat the result?

Be kind to yourself H.R. Accept the election outcome and that Labour won't be back in Government until at least 2032

Another post with no substance.

If you condone blatant lies by politicians ,it speaks volumes about your moral compass.

Tell me this @holy ravioli if you are worried about ram raids and your solution is to ban the sale of the things being taken why aren't you banning the sale of alcohol or vaping equipment?  Aren't those items at the top of the list for ram raiders?

Perhaps we should just get tougher and lock the little scrots up!!

It's not up to me.

Have a...cigar.

What has substance and what doesn't can depend on the lens you view it through.

My moral compass is exactly where I want it to be but I appreciate your concern.

There is a massive difference between making an error and telling blatant lies. It's unfortunate that you are unable to see the difference or even recognize if it's relevant.

Politicians often use advisors to fill in gaps in their knowledge. I believe that's what occurred in regard how many outlets will sell cigarettes. Luxon has had an enormous amount on his plate and much of that involves the future of NZ. The issue you're making a mountain out of a mole hill over would likely be the least important issue he's been asked repeatedly to comment on by media desperate to produce copy even if only to curry favour with other alleged journalists, grasp for a gotcha moment and justify their own existence and agenda.

Small outlets that sell cigarettes have been under relentless attack by thugs in recent years and those attacks are showing no sign of abating despite the ongoing severe risk. There's your context.

They can also choose not to sell cigarettes.  Or vaping products.  Or alcohol.

The issue is THE THUGS that do these raids and attacks.

Lot of dosh to be made from ciggies so the sellers have to decide if the reward is worth the risk.

Previous Government sent a very strong message to thugs.

1) Reducing the prison population by 30% was great news for thugs.

2) Anderson the Minister of Justice said Prison is no place for Maori. More great news for thugs.

3) Judges gifting out large sentence discounts on already weak sentences was more great news for thugs.

4) Gifting free passes for gangs was even more great news for thugs.

Change the above dynamic and you change the outcome. This straightforward situation didn't make sense to Labour and contradicted their agenda. End result was the balance was shifted in favour of thugs at the expense of law abiding kiwis.

Mercifully, the balance will now work in favour of everyday kiwi's and the risk v reward for thugs is against them.

So the solution is to increase the number of outlets🙄

The Government shouldn't have any control over the number of outlets.  In your socialist world they might.

and is this gummint just going to ban...thugs!🤪

Hopefull they'll deal to them better than the last lot who ran a catch and release program.  That is when they bothered to try and catch them.

So the govt should not have any controls or regulation concerning private enterprise....is that your position?

Govt regulation exists in all spheres of business...tell where it...doesn't.

Since when does the Government regulate how many corner dairies there should be?

We could see that coming Chief.

It will cause major inconvenience but those involved couldn't possibly care less. It will also stir up further racial division now those involved have got used to getting their own way with bells on in recent years.
