Brodie
National Weanling Sale was today at Karaka! Had a quick look thru the sale prices and from what I saw it was an absolute shocker for the vendors! One sold for 1K and heaps for $2k, a d just so many for well under the service fee! Will be interesting to see what the median price was and the comments about how successful the sale was? Entain, we have a problem!!!

Brodie
Median only $6,500! That is a shocker for breeders and for most certainly a financial loss for them!

You should have nabbed a bargain @Brodie. I would have trained it for you at cost.

I am sure there will be some value in a lot of them, but clearly there wasnt a lot of interest in many of them. So many well under service fees so it doesnt bode that well for future weanling sales, does it? Cost of living is biting for many and purchasing and racing harness horses is not on the average persons agenda. Quite depressing for the breeders unless they have the top mares to breed from and if you haven't, then many will just give the breeding business away, you would have to think as it is going to be financially unviable!
