  • Someone should tell the 'judge' when a deadheat occurs and the result of the inquiry reverses such
  • The f'in time and margins don't change

I thought the judges decision was final and couldn't be reversed by any inquiry?

The result of the race was judged off the outside camera which is located in a permanent mount inside the Judge’s box. Steward’s concerns regarding the inside camera not being correctly aligned were raised with Club Officials for follow up."

Surely it would be on the list of Stewards raceday jobs to check the camera BEFORE racing starts?  Perhaps when they watch the horses galloping on the track prior to racing commencing?

I wonder if the NZTR system doesn't allow for a zero margin to be posted?

Holy shit...didn't even think about that possibility but knowing how the whole industry operates you could be bang on

You'd think so wouldn't you?

Look lets be proactive and sort the sit out from the chaff

Give them a ring and "asking on behalf of a friend"...or for "the whole industry to secure the integrity of such"

Ask for Craig Baker...'Bakes' to his mates

I'm persona non grata as I've embarrassed them far too often

They'd really love to hear from you...don't hesitate!!!

We'd love to hear from you! Please don't hesitate to get in touch with the team.

Can't wait for this so called 'follow up" the Lack of Integrity Board are asking for following  Auckland Thoroughbred Racing's employee stuffing up the inside camera alignment

It's on a par with asking about a sore hoof "follow up"

When its a MAJOR  Integrity issue

Not only does RIB need to take responsibility but so does ATR by making an 'employment' announcement that both the Judge and camera 'operator' have been given the undistinguished order of the DCM in the NY Dishonors List

Isn't the main responsibility of the Stewards who take control raceday?  They just need to get to the course earlier in their tracksuits and red bands and check the track rating and the camera.  Then put on their frowns and raceday Italian suits.

If only they acted like the Mafia as well

Horse's heads in beds

Not "I've known John Craig for years and he's got very good eye sight, especially with a bit of contrast button"

RIB takes control of a race meeting from 7.30am morning of, I think.  They get paid the big bucks for a reason, to control racing and make decisions they should be able to stand behind.

Since when have they been oncourse raceday at 7:30am?  If they have been why do we get obviously bogus track ratings?

Let's hope in this "follow up" they'll sort out if the 'Camera Operator' (employed by the club) and the 'Judge'(employed by RIB) actually talk to each other??

"Hey cam guy, have you got the angle right for the inside cam today"?

"Hey 'Judge' guy, are you allowed to override my timing to 1000th/s of a sec. and make up a time to suit your 'ideas' of a nose when my time said there wasn't a 1000th of a sec. separating the 2 at Puke...oh and then change the nose margin to 0.2L when a "hairline" nose is only 0.1L"??

simple questions like that

I guess you have added this Topic to you never-ending loop of topics and we'll hear about it for the next two decades?

602 (1) From 7:30 am on Race day, the Stipendiary Stewards shall:
(a) have the control of the Race Meeting and be charged with the duty of ensuring that the
provisions of these Rules are applied and enforced in respect of that Race Meeting;
(b) determine any question as to whether that day of racing or any part thereof should be
postponed, abandoned or cancelled; [A

Why ring the Club?  It would be pointless as the Quality Control organisations in the system are the RIB and NZTR.  The Club provides a track and venue.

Wrong in this instance

RIB requested the CLUB "follow up" on their employee 'the camera operator' and the reason why he didn't check the inside camera for accuracy

RIB's employee should also be asked is he on speaking terms with the camera guy after the massive argument they had a month ago at Puke

It's very simple

How long has this cock up being going on ffs??

So many questions...why did the judge' go to the inside camera..all the while live on trackside..which they admitted was a mistake

After observing the clear margin on the other camera??

It's  truly shocking...especially after the Puke cock up

Why didn't the RIB check BEFORE the first race?

It's probably like a lot of things where everything is hunky dory with a quick, or no, check until something goes wrong.

I learnt to fly and got my private pilots licence.  Every time I went for a flight I had a check list.  Why is it too hard for the Stipes to do the same?

Afterall THEY are sending Jockeys out there to ride, THEY are are ensuring the INTEGRITY of a race and its outcomes.  No one else is responsible.

You can't be biased if you have a checklist ... doh!

The 'Judge' is employed by RIB

As good as the ubiquitous John Oatham is...he cant be expected to check all facets of what his staff are required to carry out

It's a given a 'Judge' would check camera alignments..if not give them the DCM

Do you check if your cleaning wallah has tooth brushed the grouting in your shower given you're as blind as a bat?

As always you are blinded by your obsessions.

One more time for your addled brain.  The point I was making was:

If the RIB take over raceday control at 7:30am in the morning of raceday then it is up to them to check:

1.  That the track has been galloped on and is safe to race on;

2.  That the declared track rating and measurements taken have been done, done accurately and truly reflect the actual track rating;

3.  That the starting gates are on course, assembled and are safe to use;

4.  That the race timing technology is in place and working correctly;

5.  The photo finish cameras are functional and aligned correctly.

Now all those things could be checked when No. 1 above was done.

Not rocket science is it?  Now you just continue rambling on  with your boring witch hunt.

No they are not.

"Judge means the person appointed by NZTR or a Club to declare the official placings for each Race at a Race Meeting."
