aquaman
Evidence suggests a good portion of punters are code specific, a good portion will be lost to the churn. I'm confident it cannot enhance their business.

Which presumably means a lower margin overall to the NZ TAB.

Newmarket
As I mentioned many months ago, Geo Blocking is off the table, common sense prevails. Seems they will rely on amendments to the Racing Act to stop NZs punting overseas. Wouldn’t worry too much, won’t happen until at least 2026. And about the $180m figure mentioned, what makes Entain think they will scoop most of this if they are successful? I use Sportsbet, TAB & Betcha, all offer something different and seperate promos. If I can no longer bet with Sportsbet, i won’t increase my spend with TAB or Betcha, I’m not that desperate. Surely won’t be too many punters that bet solely with Aus operators, I don’t understand. Chief Stipe
Winston has been advised by f-wits on this subject. Probably the DIA being the biggest policy wise but the biggest contributor is those that fund Winnies largesse.

NZTR are planning for it to be in effect by February as of the latest road show info. They've tentatively budgeted for the extra money. I'm similar to you though. I do 5-10% of my turnover on TAB/Betcha. That will probably halve once the 'no deductions' is gone. If I can't bet overseas, I'm still not going to find any more bets at value on the NZTAB unless they significantly improve their pricing. They certainly won't get any of the turnover that I currently bet offshore. I'm sure there are many like us. I'd love to see the business case for this. I wonder if that could be obtained? Perhaps by an OIA request if necessary?
