TAB For Ever
Well the Central Otago Trots on Jan 2 are claiming the biggest crowd in South Island outside of NZ Cup day at Addington. They say they had 8000.. Obviously this means they have left other well attended meetings eg Motukarara ,Nelson , Westport and Kaikoura in the dust. Thats impressive ! Particularly when Omakau is a tiny town with very few populated towns nearby !

I'd agree with that statement, not sure on 8000 but the biggest crowd I've seen outside of Addington cup day harness wise.
Shad
Be interesting to see there turnover numbers, you'd think it would surpass the other holiday venues, if their numbers are correct, good on them, the country meets always popular this time of year, Greymouth gallops today they should get a good crowd with the weather they've been having. Country meetings have been generating outstanding turnovers and GBR but just as important is bringing new people into our industry, the average bet size I'm picking won't be big but the introduction to new people is priceless. It had a real family vibe down there and the kids entertainment was outstanding. 10 out of 10 Central Otago Trotting Club. 3
