Happy Sunrise
While on course today I heard that Boomer Bailey unexpectedly died. Then his great mate Red Hot Poker came out and won which is a bit eerie. Those 2 horses give you value for money every time they step out so a punter or owner could not want anymore. Feel sorry for Graeme Telfer as Boomer must be like family. He must be shattered so condolences to him. A bit similar to Nora Bishop losing her 'buddy' in the crash awhile back. Anybody who thinks horses are just commodities should think again. 1
Counter Punch
Horrible and sad situation all round Happy. Luckily there was some quick thinking horse people on hand to do their bit at such a sad time. Unfortunately a brick bat to the Club for no screen being available nor a tractor to shift poor old Boomer. Members of the public had to help shift him. =( It's a tough old game this game sometimes and it was pretty emotional to watch Graeme and his wife react after Red Hot Poker's win. Not sure they knew whether to smile or not. To a lot of people these horses aren't money making machines, they are a part of the family and when situations unfold like today its heart breaking for all involved. Rest in peace Boomer. 1
Happy Sunrise
Well said, CP. Boomer and RHP are larger than life racehorses who bring colour to proceedings just by the way they race and that is rare indeed in this day and age. Hence the Legend status in my book for both of them.
Flagship uberalles
That's very sad, not often a harness horse dies on track, but now 2 over the weekend. Must be an empty feeling for the poor owners
Guest CrossCodes
Didn’t see any races today but very sad to hear this, followed Boomer for years and always tried his best and always went a good race. Condolences to connections.
