Dollars to stakes paid

Recommended Posts

Some interesting statistics from meetings recently.

For every dollar paid to Wellington on/off course turnover was $2.68

.For Ellerslie the next day it was $4.77

At Reefton, it was $7.14; for Kumura, it was $9.88.

I know the Coast is looking for another day to add to the circuit and with these figures you would think they have a strong case but I am told all the submissions put up by the Coast have been thrown in the rubbish bin.

It makes you wonder if we have the right people to make Racing more sustainable for the betterment of Racing.

When the new NZTR CEO is announced you will have your answer. Or looking at it another way by the time we get to the new season in 6 months  you will know if there is any real drive and determination for significant change

Couple of interesting articles about Entain in The Times today. Their auditors are being investigated for a pretty suspect job. And Entain has just closed down the Greyhound track they own in London. London's second last Greyhound track. The track is worth more to Entain if sold to property developers than kept as a race track.

Based on that, you imagine Entain would be totally in favour of the policy of selling off as many tracks as possible, taking the money and centralising everything. The last thing they would want would be an extra day on the Coast.

Not only that but the first two meetings get extra promo from Entain like the KMs will also , so it's not even close to being a level playing field in that respect.

I've heard some clubs have been put on notice by NZTR with regards to the Racing Act land grab , so expect it to only get worse.

There is no way a new CEO will not be on board with this.

Rest assured they have no idea about Racing but they are happy to steal to keep the Ponzi scheme going.

Have clubs had this in writing Huey?  What sort of clubs would be interesting as some of the worst performing have the most valuable land.
