It might have a few impediments, but giving you a toweling on the punt certainly ain't one of them. Bring it on Sonny.

curious
OK .... in the spirit of the holiday season, I'll add $200 to the prize. Condition is you get one NZTAB bet with that and any proceeds go to a charity of the winners choice. 2
Docker
Hi Hesi I'm in if FTF decides to participate. Just a few questions. Does a scratching go on the fixed odd favourite or the tote sub? Are results calculated on the tote dividend or fixed odds? Does a result only count if a selection wins? (a place result may return a greater value than an e/w). For late scratchings, are selection changes allowed. If a meeting is abandoned, is the competition void or the current leader wins. Thanks

I'd be happy with prize must go on bet, but if that wins, prize winner gets minimum of 50% of initial prize + 20% of profit from bet. Rest goes to registered charity. i.e prize pool $600, winner gets $300 if bet successful, rest to charity. Even though I won't win, if by chance I did, all money would go to charity.

Luckily the chances of you winning and then coming up with a winning bet are so low, we won't be needing a donation receipt from you. Scratchings on the tote sub 2. Results calculated on $1ew(on tote prices) on your selection, so a good placing will get you more than a winner, if that winner is a shortish fave. Please note you have 2 best bets per meeting which is effectively $2 ew 3. Late scratchings you are on the tote sub, impossible to manage otherwise. Normal scratchings can be replaced up until the start time of the first race 4. If Boxing Day partially or fully abandoned, then we carry points through to NYD. If NYD partially or fully abandoned, then Boxing Day results stand, plus any accrued points on NYD. If both fully abandoned, then what happens with this comp will be immaterial, as there will probably be a lynching a Ellerslie or mass hari kari somewhere in the NZ racing world I see some pretty heavy rain predicted though Edited December 21, 2018 by hesi

hesi
We've talked in the past about using FF prices quoted when you post your selection, harder to manage, but a consideration for a future comp mentioned in this thread. I guess it would be a key thing, as part of your guys skill is assessing value and beating what the TAB puts up

hesi
Anyway, BOXING DAY fields are out, so plenty of time for study. Beware though, a lot of rain predicted for Auckland prior to Boxing Day The entry thread will still not go up till Sunday, so as not to detract from the final round of PJ's comp on Saturday

For a comp like barryb suggested, yes, value is going to often be the key. Can be managed by a bet being accompanied by a screen shot of the odds quoted form the betting provider (with time of day displayed). I have some other ideas when such a comp comes about.
