Not really....recent Avondale trials cancelled thru lack of grass , while Foxton also had a cancellation thru lack of entries . Ellerslie has over 24 heats tomorrow with over 120 horses while Foxton has some too. Plenty of Clubs incl Levin and Cambridge been having well attended Jumpouts of late. I think Curious's point was that most trainers in Canty have grass track horses. AWT trials are purely an option of last resort.

He clearly , in oversize print put out a NZTR heading ,knowing and inviting the 'tight five' to appear like hungry dogs to feast in some negative comments. Good to see you obliged after a 'quiet' weekend . Dunno if you realise but the trials schedule is written up well in advance , at least till August 1 2025. If the dates not gonna be used then why don't the Trainers Assoc put their spoke in. Alterations were recently made to the Northern schedule. Why do some folk prefer to cry than create ? That was a copy and paste of NZTR's font size. Like the raceday programming, surely they can adjust trials programming to trainer demand, which as I noted above they have done by providing a couple of 2yo trials At Ashburton on Thursday. Not entirely correct. There have been many instances in the past two seasons where trainers have protested that they need grass track trials when none had been scheduled. Several big stables exerted their influence (pressure?) to get trials and that was from NZ's most horse populated region.

Instead of going to your set position of positividdy and laying it on like maple syrup why don't you stop and consider that the people protesting have real skin in the game and have tried and tried to be heard. As for the Trainers Association and the Programming Committees they seem toothless, powerless and/or too keen to toe what they perceived to be the party line. The only time there are changes to schedules is when the "Big Five" Stables exert combined pressure. However they are hestitant to do that when it comes to the Ellerslie track and the all roads lead there policy.
