If you punted fav you did your dough, big run by Winelight for 3rd team driving is just part of the sport and punters i'm sure have a negative view of it,but realise it happens and also expect it to a degree. i also think theres a threshold, where team driving is viewed as crossing the line. the question about the race on friday was, would m white have elected to take a trail when pressured in the back straight,if he was focused on driving to achieve the best possible placing for his horse. i think the answer to that is,he would very obviously have taken the trail ,had he not been thinking of team driving for the others from the same stable. so reality is m white, the cullen stable ,the marketplace connections, they all have shown that harness racing has an element that is not fair play for punters.Thats just the way it is.That aspect is never going to change. it doesn't reflect well on those involved. After all,it shouldn't be too much to expect that drivers are there to drive in a way to achieve the best possible placing. Of course the punters who backed the winner would have just laughed, thought that was all a bit dodgy, but happily taken their winnings. Withadream2
I think had Winelight handed to Beside Me it would have finished a lot closer. A very poor tactical drive by M White that set it up for a swooper.
