wow, three things jump out to me, the size of some of the fields! rather tough on the punter! the challenge of the commentator in calling them, especially when the split to either side of the track! dare I mention the use of 'the whips' compare to NZ?

Yeah!  I was looking through the fields and went WOW 30 horses - where are the ballots?  There weren't any!!

For me as an owner, as I said, I don't really care about strike rate. If they can win a couple of races in a season and we have some fun and a couple of thrills, all good. Whether they do that in 10 starts or 20 is immaterial.

Each to their own.  But if I didn't win a race in 20 starts I'd be looking for another horse and probably a new trainer.
