Another brilliant, bright sunny day on the coast.

The council has done well in acquiring the course for $1, and I assume this is because it was sold to a Developer, with the sections being 170k.

Have some good memories from riding there.

Have some great memories too, love the Coast, nothing stays the same though.

What a shame, I hope the rate payer of westland will see some benefits of the sale, but probably not, be swallowed up no doubt in the coffers, certainly some great memories over the years of attending their meetings  from a young age, a great track for viewing the racing everything so handy an close by, Decoy lad one that springs to mind winning over there, been many a good  horse win there, Covered n Grey a top mare that may have won 2 Miss Scenicland Stakes, from a punting point of view how could one forget the win of Our Spice trained by Mr Fuge, a must watch, tailed off by long distance in some of the worst track conditions seen, only to hug the rail and win by a huge margin, I certainly enjoyed the 50 fixed odds div, Mr Fuge always supported the coast an usually got a winner, some lining up three times on the circuit, I have the race on my sky, I'm sure the commentator Mr Teaz will remember that day.

Only on the coast, a patient ride, remember backing another of Mr Fuges horses called all ginga, never went any any good at greymouth reefton or kumara, was certainly losing faith when she lined up at hokitika, 4th start in a short circuit, I thought couldn't win, after many dubious thoughts and how horses make a fool of you, stuck with the ship, ran very wide on the post corner, then hunted up for the front,  lead and won, 32s, oh the memories, just that these days, thanks for the replay, any our your favorites from that era, or good horses to race there you remember,  or any from other readers.

That was some sort of win, certainly enjoyed the trip back in time, thanks again, notsure where you find the older footage

Was only there once with a horse I raced in 95. Was sure we got up. Centre of the track from last on the turn. R S Bruce. Didn't appreciate the 45 degree angle of the finish line obviously and we ran second.
