Newmarket Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Usually leading up to cup week…. this stable is firing, so what’s happening. Akuta was very average today, should at least got 2md, in fact should have challenged winner with the run it had, and Dont Stop Dreaming was poor after getting a good run. Sad to see the decline, by all accounts this will see less owners spending big. Only 2 weeks until cup day, surely these 2 will struggle to finish in top 4. Quote

I did read that Akuta was only around 80% fit for today's race, and that looked to be the case late in the race, still thought he went ok,be interesting to see if he heads to Kaikoura next week,or the Cup Trial,i think he'll need to run in 1 of those to get fitness for the Cup. And DSD is trained by the Cullen's now,but yes he was disappointing. 1 Quote

Be surprised if they improve enough to be competitive in cup…. the aussies will be hard to beat and the winner today has grown a leg Quote
