I don't bet retail but I think from what Vouris said, they are offered only on the retail pods when you use them. Has anyone who does bet retail seen them?

There was one about two or three weeks ago.  Not sure if it was Cup week.  From memory it was a bonus type cash promotion but they float around in one form or another all the time.  

Interesting that the oncourse % to Clubs is 25% higher if through a digital device.  Does that mean betting on you phone oncourse or using one of the pods that they put on course now?

So for the last few years the TAB / Entain have made it as hard as possible to bet at Pubs, TABs, Self Service hubs, then surprisingly they offer promotions to those instore, after refusing the same punters promos for yrs? 
 

A mate from Aussie had a $2k collect at Riccarton, went to collect but as he was from Aus didnt have TAB account to withdraw….

So funny thing, he got me to put in my TAB acc details with operator, before she paid him cash…. how bloody stupid, so they know my details but gave mate money with no questions asked… this money laundering shit os working well🫣

ENTAIN has only been here for just over two years.  They inherited a broken retail model with equally broken and aged equipment.  They have been steadily upgrading all the equipment.  I don't think you can blame for that.  No point promoting something that was broken!!

No…. The TAB tote staff manager said it was the only way for my mate to get paid…. told him to place several, smaller bets with collects under $1000, so they can pay cash without questions 🤣

You moaned about the lack of retail promotions.  I explained very clearly that ENTAIN can't be blamed for that.  Why spend money promoting wagering on aged equipment that you entended to replace.  It appears most people understand that that approach makes sense yet it escapes you.

And now they got new equipment but still no promotions. Absolute joke this Entain with a ceo that doesn’t even know what the outfit is or isn’t doing

I saw one today. There was a yellow star (from memory) next to the race. I clicked on it and there was a terminal only option of El Vencador boosted from $1.55 to $1.70.

Wow how generous but at least it’s there. Were you using a terminal? Any maximum bet size?

Yes I was using the terminal. I’m not sure re bet limit sorry once I saw the option I wasn’t interested and stopped paying to much attention to it.

I don't look for them and they are not targeting me.  I'm surprised I saw any retail promotions.  If you understand segment marketing then I'm not in that segment.

What a load of tripe. A little yellow star on the screen of a machine is segment marketing and that’s going to make the tab great again. Stuff the segment marketing you’ve got to get people punting.

I'd make that NEW people punting and for the most part, to get them to do that, they have to think they can win.

Top of the class curious. They have to think they can win. More than 99% can’t but they have to see it as possible. Cheapest and most effective marketing available to Vouris but he doesn’t understand it.

Sometimes this constant negativity gets so tedious and tiresome.

@Shab it isn't "just a little star on the screen" - all retail outlets have got new large promotional screens.  These segmented (localised) promotions are displayed on these screens.  I don't know what the specific marketing objectives are but two of them would be to encourage the increase in frequency and value of a bet.  For example at $1.50 fixed odds win on El Vencedor yesterday was too short for my liking BUT if I had been at the local pub and a couple of jugs into the day $1.70 might have enticed me to shove that spare tenner I had in my pocket on it.

@curious the retail outlet promotions wouldn't target NEW customers.  The retail outlet demographic are largely already account captured by the TAB.  Everyday promotions would be targeted at getting more and more often.  Targeting NEW customers in a retail outlet may occur on event days e.g. Melbourne Cup day.

My observation of the marketing expenditure and expertise by ENTAIN is light years ahead of the previous TAB management.  It isn't random and it is very targeted.  The success of their efforts will improve as the technology upgrades continue at pace.
