Most of the vile abusive remarks online would stem from losing punters IMO.

Yes and I've hidden a fair number of such posts on BOAY.

But not all are losing punter.  There are some individuals that are active participants in the industry that constantly make degrading and abusive comments while spreading a false narrative that has no relationship to fact.

As for your contribution to Morty's case regarding the Bill of Rights Act - that was purely an academic sideshow.  No precedent was set in that regard.  If someone wants to test the new rule if enforced then good luck to them.  I'm sure you'll pull all your old notes out.

Totally agree. At the time I posted in that Mortygate thread on the Caf

"the credit lies entirely with Mr. Morton, his supportive wife, and his advocate. I was but a spare part."

Where do you draw the line.  Are they allowed to do this simply because it is their opinion.

I really hope NZTR takes a tough line with these characters that give the impression that this is the norm for the industry, simply because a small number are so incessant with their remarks.

You keep saying this but where's the evidence? @Chief Stipe you say you hide them, presumably because they are that in your opinion.

And @hesi, if you "draw a line". Where? And how do you action or enforce it? Otherwise, it's just a further meaningless waste of time.

That was never tested in a higher court and you are being selective in your quotation.  In my opinion McKechnie was wrong.

Dismissal: On September 8, 2015, the Judicial Control Authority (JCA) dismissed the serious racing offence charges, labeling the evidence "bordering on the hopeless".
