Race favourite The Bostonian will have to carry topweight of 57kg as Tony Pike’s in-form galloper attempts to make history in the TAB Stradbroke Handicap on June 8.

The son of Jimmy Choux is the $6 TAB favourite for the Group I as he looks to become the first horse to win the Doomben 10,000-Kingsford Smith Cup (formerly BTC Cup)-Stradbroke treble.

The Bostonian carried 59kg when claiming the Kingsford-Smith (1300m) at Eagle Farm last Saturday after carrying 58.5kg in the Doombern 10,000, both those races being run under weight-for-age conditions.

Goldolphin’s Osborne Bulls was slugged with the topweight of 58kg, but the James Cummings-trained sprinter is already in the paddock.

A third placing in the Kingsford-Smith sees Trekking allotted 54kgs, with runner-up Princess Posh also set to enjoy a weight swing for the rematch with 52kg.

Other fancied runners include Tyzone (53kg), Despatch (54.5kg), Home Of The Brave (56kg), Victorem (51.5kg) and Outback Barbie (49.5kg).

Country Championships winner Noble Boy would need a miracle to make the field despite an impressive win in Queensland last weekend.

The Todd Blowes-trained four-year-old is 77th in the ballot having been weighted on 51kg.

First acceptances will take place on Wednesday.
