Launceston fog a helluva lot worse than Addington’s

Launceston in Australia are racing tonight, and I happened to switch over from other channels and noticed each time that they are still racing despite

the fog totalling covering the track and thick as Pea soup as they say!

The fog is so much thicker than what Addington had a few weeks back when the races were called off!!!!

Obviously the officialdom and drivers over in OZ have a differing opinion when it comes to how dangerous fog is to drive in bearing in mind the Launceston track is a lot tighter than Addington.

Still believe that the abondonment of the second half of the program at Addington that night was totally not necessary!

I saw one race from Launceston, and it certainly was a heck of a lot worse than when they abandoned the races at addington.

The problem will be the precedent they set with the abandonment at addington. This year there hasn't been as much fog as normal around, but its a safe bet the foggy conditions that existed when they abandoned the meeting, will repeat themselves many times to come.

You would expect there to be a couple of abandonments a year, possibly even more at addington..

It was extremely dense for many races and as I say on a very tight track, and still not called off!

The abandonment at Addington was unnecessary and many trainers, drivers and owners were extremely annoyed!

They have races on nights that had thicker fog and no accidents as far as I am aware because of fog, so in hindsight they should’ve carried on!!!!
