Mardy
With this season winding down and Lisa Allpress being crowned champ. What are people's thoughts as to who will win it next season?.We've had a few jocks come back to NZ over the last few months, namely Craig Grylls,Michael McNab and Sam Weatherley....can anyone see any of them taking the crown or will it be another one for Lisa?.Personally im a big Jason Waddell fan so if he stays fit and suspension-ish free then who knows..but i may still be dreaming.I think with some of the talent coming back...oh and i just remembered Danielle Johnson is back as well, that it could be an intriguing battle. theshu
Sam Weatherley to win by 20 or more. Have been watching him a lot in Sydney, the kid rides very very good. Have seen a few interviews as well and really comes across as a very nice young guy.
Mardy
Yip you could well be right. As in the article that i read about him coming home he said that he'd be doing a bit of travelling and he will definitely get support from trainers, especially from the Pitmans when he goes down South.

Weasel
Sam Weatherley has made an intriguing decision to ride in NZ again - I doubt that he'll be here for long, perhaps two seasons ...his stated reasons are for family reasons -ie 'homesick' and it takes a good deal of self-awareness for a young man with so much talent to choose NZ when he can earn much more overseas. In a year or two, he may have one or two NZ Premierships under his belt and the confidence/ambition /maturity that comes with experience/age. Having met Sam a few times at the races, I have been impressed by his 'people skills' at such a young age Good luck to him. theshu
Totally agree there Mr W. I would imagine he would soon get sick of riding around 3 or 4 meetings a week in New Zealand for 10,000 dollar stakes after riding in 120,000 dollar races every saturday in Sydney.Rides good, seems a lovely young kid going by some of the interviews i have seen here in aussie with a great future. Can always go back to Sydney after realising NZ is a waste of time. It seems to me all your staff in the big house that run your racing are all going ok, but not passing any of the much needed funds to the actual workers of the racing game, the trainers and the jockeys.
