All The Aces
Well we know for sure that Ngakonui Grass reads this site as twice now he/she has posted the correct answer after I have placed it here. Especially amusing since stating over there "Wouldn't know where to start to get the answer so i will take a guess" Just keep popping over here NG.....help is at hand when you get stuck. ☺️
All The Aces
Chief is this guy Hesi a hippie from the late 60s early 70s? Must have been good LSD in those days as he thinks Timon raced in front of the Queen at Ellerslie. Would have been a remarkable feat as the Queen was at Ellerslie in 1953 and Timon raced in the 70s. ?

ATA you are being a tosspot (again) Queen Elizabeth visited NZ three times in the 1970s ...(1970, 1974 and 1977) ...so quite conceivable that she was in Auckland when Timon was racing.
All The Aces
Did she attend Ellerslie races in those visits though Weasel? It's very hard to race in front of the queen if she wasn't present at the meeting. In 1970 she attended the races at Trentham from all reports but I as to Ellerslie? 1974 was for the Commonwealth Games and can't find any evidence of her attending Ellerslie in 1977. Anyway Chester my Spearfelt thoughts go out to you at this time. Come in NG. ? you are missing the point, so I will make it again and hope you catch my drift. You posted a snaky remark aimed at Hesi (below). noting that Timon didn't race until the 1970s and Lizzie had visited years earlier in '53... but Hesi was quite reasonable in his guess, since the monarch was indeed on our fair shores during Timon's racing career. Whether or not their paths crossed in the 1970s is irrelevant, his guess was a fair call. Must have been good LSD in those days as he thinks Timon raced in front of the Queen at Ellerslie. Would have been a remarkable feat as the Queen was at Ellerslie in 1953 and Timon raced in the 70s. You'll never win with this lot ATA! They've even resorted to plagiarism to make themselves appear more 'punting sophisticates'... A bloke called VC "Finche was very good again. His staying profile suggested that he may not be suited by a slower run race that required a fast sprint home and there was an element of truth to that. He couldn’t match Kings Will Dream’s turn of foot between the 400m and 150m, but he didn’t lose much ground and was very fast and strong late, recording the 2nd best rating last 200m of the entire meeting. His 101.8 rating is virtually on par with his 102 first up and we know that he’ll be better suited over further and in a race with more genuine speed. If he can progress to the 104-105 level in his lead up runs to the Melbourne Cup then he will go into that race with 54kg as a serious winning chance." Verbatim from a well known Racing luminary in Dan O'Sullivan... Grass replied thinking he'd come across an intellectual and nearly self flaggerlated himself stupid again...
All The Aces
Just read the following posts from you know where and whom: Hesi: Unbelievably, I have the answer......and fortunately the Queen was not involved.......Doug.......... or was that Doug's copy and paste stooge First - Chester Last - Comedy king Whoopeeee, can't resist this That arrogant, know all twat ATA(Chief Stipe or his copy and paste crony) on BOAY got it wrong, had Spearfelt as the last. I don't suppose he is big enough to admit he got it wrong...........just confirms one thing Allow me a small modicum of self indulgence Curious: You may be right Peter. However an authority on these matters on another site suggests that Spearfelt which won the Melbourne Cup in 1926 was leading sire in 1942-43 ? That concurs with my checking and would make him the last to do that double And PWJ who asked the question: Thanks Curious. Like I said, I'm happy to entertain other suggestions because I hadn't done an exhaustive research and yes Spearfelt achieved this feat. I will have to bow to an "authority" Oh dear...… poor Hesi!!! Well well well...……..I don't think I need to say anything just resort to a ☺️ and a? Edited October 16, 2019 by All The Aces
