Bettingman Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 Due to the outbreak of canine corona virus rampant in Australia at the moment has anyone heard if NZ has put any safeguards in place - ie Not allowing ANY imports into NZ until it has run its course? Quote

It is only a normal gastro virus. That'd be a huge overreaction. Ive never seen anyone call for borders to be shut before Quote
aquaman Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 Its nothing but a media beat up. Mostly fake news, and a huge hoax being perpetrated on the world.? Quote
racinggreys Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 It might be just a gastric illness but it looks like its starting to impact on their fields, so perhaps NZ should take a look at the imports that are coming in. I hear GRV are making any dogs going into, or going out and back take a 10 or 14 day quarantine standown. All it will take is one to spread it around like wild fire. Quote

It affects all breeds, so to ban greyhound imports while all other canine travel continues will not prevent entry. Eventually it will spead throughout NZ with or without a stand down. Quote
