Brodie Posted August 12, 2020 Share Posted August 12, 2020 Just watched Vigaroso bolt in at Bendigo. Won like a horse that is capable of winning heaps more in Oz. Was a reasonable battler for Denis O’Connell, racing mainly at Forbury for fair results! Wonder what sort of money they wouldve paid for a horse like this nowadays? Happy, thing is that Oz is far easier to place a horse and win races! Even though I am having trouble saying it, Averos Spitfire would win races, especially in South Australia, where the horses are absolutely donkeys! Horses that are driven with a sit in NZ, go to Oz and can lead up and still win! Some of our horses do improve by going over there and with different training methods, however Oz horses on average are just not as good as ours, so it is far easier to win!! It actually did show a fair bit of speed several times in The straight at Forbury! To be fair Denis O’Connell would be classified as a hobby driver, and His horses always perform better with a professional driver, no offence intended, Denis!!
