Chief, doesnt mean that the North horses are anywhere near as good as the South horses does it?

RocknRoll Mama, an amateur raced horse was placed so what it shows is that mile racing at Cambridge is very interesting!

The reason there were many North Island horses involved  isbecause the Auckland stake money generally is much higher and smaller fields, so far easier to qualify!

Cup Day probably does ok as the Club makes huge money on the hospitality revenue.

Also, it does bring a great crowd oncourse and probably not get a lot of returnees to the races during the year, but is decent promo!

Yes we do need to support the North Island harness, as it is on life support.

The question needs to be asked is why Auckland is allowed to run races for at least 12k and have small fields and Canterbury is running races for as little as $7k and has larger fields?

Yes I know it is all about distribution to the clubs, but it seriously has its problems!

Correction meant House re Winter Cup, not Easter Cup, also many trainers whether they are hobby, smaller trainers or larger they, enter horses sometimes in races e.g. Jnr drive or amateurs or other races to make up the fields. So for ALL of them if they qualified for the Jewels so be it, they are in. Regarding that 2 y-o race, it wasn't just 1 horse Sugar Apple that was "outclassed" it was the whole lot of them. Whipped by 10 lengths. 

Forgot to mention a couple I meet that said for me to give back feedback on their behalf, so here goes, they drove down from Auks & were potentially interested in horse ownership. Think they were a members friends. They only stayed 4 races then left. It was their first time at Camb races & no doubt the last. They made a joke when they got their provided lunch (which was good tasty 😄) saying "lets take a pic of our table we are at and post it to Facebook" all while looking down at the floor the invisible table.

I know someone that had saved to attend as on a super tight budget and thought would be at a table only not to be. On the other side of the spectrum also know their were 3 multi-millionaires that also did not get a table and thought they had 1 booked, they ended up sitting down on a window ledge for most of the day, CLASSY AS STUFF FOR THEM. NOT! 1 of them said to me that they are a member of Ellerslie races gallops and said "they would not have come down from Auckland had they known this was the situation". They then said "typical b....dy harness.

Time for some good news 😄 So looks like maybe on target for that 5 million goal target including Aus betting 😃 So can still say Eat It regarding that hehe. 

Turnover for the IRT Harness Jewels at Cambridge Raceway was $2.65m, not including figures from Australia. It was made up of $1.1m off course, $1.3m through fixed odds betting, and $167,000 on-course. Total turnover was the third highest of the season behind NZ Cup day and Show Day.

What are you talking about? This was meant to be a bit of fun. Light heartedness. Its the first time its been brought up. Not sure why you are making it weird.

Do you think that young blokes don't bum pinch when they are out clubbing or at pubs? Come on MikeyNZ you must be living in fantasy land. 

Your opinion on Sugar Apple being outclassed was a fair call on the other site. But this, not sure why you are saying the above is pathetic.

On a more positive note regarding turnover third biggest day of the season,well you would think it would have been,the better the product the more the public buy into it,I would say Westport would be fourth,Boxing Day,I may be wrong but another example of people buying into it, purely because it's at a festive time.

Ill let you, JJ and Ludwig post on here. Doesn't look like Hunts or Ranga are coming back. And not many others are posting. Post something trying to be funny as the sites quiet and not long left to post 2.5 weeks  and get criticised.

No one other than Gammas and Paleface joined in on the nom your fav drive 2021. And unlikely Fitzgerald will be the judge probably won't reply and we only had a small amount of people enter in our $10 Karrots Jewels comp. 

Then of course the disappointment that had at Jewels day, after the exciting 2 month wait for it, (which seems Im not allowed to have said by people from the other site including you).

It does make 1 lose enthusiasm after all the efforts.

Well I personally wouldn't want my bum  pinched,if someone pinched it and didn't bring it back it would  negate my ability to fart to a standard few can match,it's taken a long time of fine tuning to get this good,amd when I'm in top form few people can come near me,probably don't want to anyway.😋

Hehe fart yes that would of been a goodie reaction. Think she was just flattered being hit on by the younger blokes and some attention. The mood I was in at the time, prob might of slapped them lol had it happened to me. But it comes with a story. Which I won't share. So yeah it was funny 😀

As this is a racing forum I will call it a day on the humour and try and act like a fully mature grown adult,which sometimes is a struggle,sometimes I just can't be bothered with humour all the time.

However, with the PC bullshit and other things  nowadays, it would be one helluva risk pinching a ladies butt without her consent!

You wouldve got away with it in Ranga’s day, but nowadays you could well go for a skate without the consent of the pinched one!

Some of the less than hot ones may enjoy it, but most wouldnt!

Ok so had thought that it was fact, but its just speculation atm. So not fact, nor confirmed, that Camb will get to hold the next Jewels. Have thought about the pros and cons, and if I was to put in a vote I would reluctantly vote FOR, here are my reasons,

1. With it being at 1 VENUE only, it can be built up on, every year, bi-annunal makes it much harder. 

2. Camb Club are by far (subjective) the best at marketing/promoting. 

3. The community rallies around it and it brings business to the whole community. 

4. The track with miles offers "others' not just hot pots to win, said this prior the Jewels, e.g. now South Coast Arden, Need you Know & BD Joe are all Group 1 winners.

5. Id present a subsidy to ALL travellers up from the South to help with travel costs.

6. Id also introduce an incentive to stay or both come up for the meeting at Alex prior as the lead up and then stay on for the Gems race after. Offering incentives to ALL South horses e.g. an extra $500 - $1500 for ALL that race in all 3. This could become like a carnival type thing. And help with fields in North for 5-6 weeks during this timeframe.

Id vote FOR on the conditions that KPI's need to be meet, e.g. every year the turnover needs to be higher & higher, AND under NO circumstances are there to be any F. UPS. regarding customer service. ZERO. If these conditions are NOT meet then it reverts to Addington or Alex. 

PS Camb are still in dog-box for me, just thinking of long term future and as a whole of harness & Addington does get NZ CUP week etc. 

Votes are open - who is for and who is against and reasons why? 😄
