Melbourne Cup information - you get your money back if the horse you back is not nominated. NZ Trotting Cup information - No refunds if not nominated! Brodie Posted July 10, 2018 Share Posted July 10, 2018 Happy, I suppose it is because of the no. of gallopers that can possibly nominate and the fact that it is near impossible,to pick,the winner of the Melbourne. Cup this far out. You can win very few races and still nominate and start in the Melbourne Cup so I think it is fair as far as the Melbourne Cup is concerned.
