I note there is a 2year Selsey Bill having its second race start at Addington on Monday!

The site according to HRNZ is Falcon Seelster who died over 10 years ago!!!
This does seem rather incredible doesnt it?

I read that they had straws of semen for NZ and Australia but seriously does frozen semen really stat potent for at least 10 years and why would you want to produce a foal from a now non commercial sire???

If you freeze peas, they aint going to be that edible after 10 years so surely they lose something over time??

Are there any other Falcon Seelsters still around and racing?

There are still quite a bit of his frozen semen reatained but is no possible to use it. The rules were changed about 2 years ago so that once a stallion dies his semen may not be able to be used

Makes sense as it must lose its potency over time?
