mumbles
Stratford seems a good choice. If people want to stay in the game they will move just as thousands of NZers have over the years with their jobs.

Carey is a bit selfish wouldn't shifting the training to Stratford be better. Upgrading the training tracks at Strafford wouldn't cost 10 million not all the trainers would have to shift to Stratford . You know it's for the betterment of the industry. Stratfords freehold and will always be there. I notice the NZTR comment if the sportshub building was built in the middle of the course I would say that would be the deathnell for racing in NP. Training looks as if it's already out going on Careys report in the Daily News. Edited December 21, 2021 by Whyisit
Doomed
Bloody hell, I found it quite interesting until I read this bit. The multi-sport hub is now called the Tuparikino Hub, the name gifted by Ngāti Tuparikino, one of the hapu involved in the project.
Doomed
I can't see why it needs to be north of NP when there are heaps of racing facilities south of NP.
Doomed
I was quite excited at the prospect that this could be the first time a non racing person had become involved in planning the future of racing and the industry made massive advances. So exciting. This person could make a real name for themselves. Hub project director Steve Bramley, who is based in Auckland and came on board in October, said putting a large number of people on the same site where there are horses training does not work.
Doomed
It must be incredibly embarrassing that all the provincial tracks like Stratford that the industry brains trust are trying to kill off are suddenly needed. Much the same as Avondale. Before you know it they might suddenly decide that Foxton and Timaru aren't so bad after all.

I guess it goes to show how completely worthless BS Venue Plan has been.
