If you are a keen owner it might pay to book your space quickly. You can't book anything until you have a runner accepted I don't think. What you say kind of makes sense but surely they would open the list now.....there would be an upside as they'd get a fair idea in advance who was targeting the meeting!!!! curious
They could just contact trainers to do that couldn't they? They should be doing it anyway before setting the programming. 1

Revenue is directly related to number of runners. They do stuff like programme an open 1600 which draws 4 noms and they then delete. Meanwhile, they eliminate 10 horses from say an R65 1600. Regular direct contact with all trainers in the catchment would avoid this and surely more than pay for itself. 2

The Club, the Canterbury Programming Committee, NZTR or all of them working together?
curious
I see this on another channel. Hope that puts a rocket under them. The Members Council have serious concerns about Owners being blocked from attending Racing. These have been communicated to Bruce Sharrock COO of NZTR. Sharrock's position is that Owners should be able to attend and view their horses races.

Not that hard a job really. All they need to do is say to the chap who shovels the shit in the birdcage "Hey Trev could you stay for an extra half hour after the last and sort out the programme for the next meeting for us? You're closer to the action than us and we keep cocking it up." 4

curious
Just to follow up on this and give credit where due, the CJC provided facilities for owners today. The Phar Lap room. The entry process was very well organised and efficient. The space was comfortable with plenty of seating and access to a large area of undercover stand right on the finish line. The food and drink was good and reasonably priced especially considering it was table service, That service was also very good. 👍
