Now for the those not quite up to speed with code, S4B = Shit For Brains............I thought it tasteless to add a Titular with such punch, however, is it not a public holiday in good old NZ today? I realise you must all be outside at the BBQ, prawns, lamb cutlets, salmon steaks, etc, but wouldn't you rather be at a thriving, pumping excitement plus race meeting?

Why on earth didn't the rocket scientists at the Taj Mahal on Jackson St schedule a race meet for Gods sake? When someone breaks free of the outdoor oven could you post an answer? I'm thunderstruck to learn why, or why not rather......

As you know Joe they live in a land of Nirvana where everyday is a holiday so why would today be any different for them .

As for the code , when i read it to begin with i thought someone was selling an old maths book .

Maybe the short lead in time of 2 weeks notice maybe a contributing factor?

That statement about sums up the speed at which head office works , nothing can be done with less than 4 weeks notice .

Staff even have to place their sausage roll orders in 4 weeks in advance .

If you told them it would be a good idea to have an AWT meeting or the Northern region needed a meeting they'd jump at it!

Besides that the clubs they are allowing to hold race days couldn't be bothered losing a day off to hold a race meeting or putting in any effort to do something that required any initiative,  why would they bother ...they don't care.

The "Grand Tour" will save the industry,  a repackaged,  regurgitated promo of already successful race days (piss ups, parties) held at the only time of year the public are interested in attending meetings, they'll give themselves a big tick for how successful they were at putting that together.

Good question JB. I have asked the same previously and comfortable with answer.

The NZ entertainment $ doesn't stretch well to Monday of a long weekend, hurting turnover and hospitality spend significantly.

Australia is our main source of turnover these days and if the holiday doesn't coincide figures are through the floor from there.

Also Race clubs, hospitality providers, on-track services - cameras, starters, clerks, farriers, vets etc, trainers, all have pay double time and time in lieu expenses.

Then somethings crook in Talarook, if we had that attitude here in Oz the industry would be Donald Ducked, public hols are mana from heaven in the gambling industry, NZ needs root and branch reform, although I fear it's too late, the Kiwi dollar has gone from the ''Swissiwi' of years gone, to Monopoly money, 1-15 now, how do you fix it? with so many talented NZ horse people now ensconced in Oz, you've got dregs left at HQ, like Sharrock, at least Saundry bolted, so thats a start, but the broom would need to be wider than the AKL harbour bridge........

The talent thats left at grassroots level have given up, cant be bothered or accept the inevitable, sad as that may be.....
