Forbury was the best track for betting I loved the place everyone had a go there.worse decision I've seen to close it.the main reason it was such a bad decision was the track floods.i have a picture of it under water.so how can they sell it for housing.forbury has to be worthless and they should be racing there again.the turnover was good there and Manawatu pathetic turnover and racing and betting and still open.i think it does not flood and could have housing in it.the mind boggles with hrnz

The thing is though Forbury, is there going to be enough owners and trainers around to make Forbury viable?

Canterbury seems to be the only district that can provide enough horses consistently to run racing all year round!

100% right there now but that wasn't the case a few years back as the deep south has declined with racing.thats what made forbury so great for racing and betting the south vs canterbury.its sad it's gone forever.

I think Forbury gone has taken away a dimension that added interest, the Canterbury and Southlandes meeting in the middle, I'm sure if some of those good pacers were racing there as once before then the interest would have stayed.

Invercargill have scrubbed 2 meetings this season, not even a mention of the second one, it's all becoming a bit uninteresting., seems the bigger tracks are more popular, yet the North only have two pokey tracks, spouse they have no choice but just take it or leave it.
