NZRacing
the no deductions is a good promo for punters but for the NZ TAB it will hurt their bottom line. Last month turnover up and profit down and that's with all the so-called cuts to expenditure along with the efforts of RITA 🙄. No change in the opening %'s yeah right - last week markets that were in the past opening at around 130% were as high as 149%. Bonus bets back to 5th on selected races thrown in with a lot of other good punter promo incentives are good only one problem turnover goes up and profit has gone done = recipe for disaster. Another problem is they don't have people with experience and knowledge who know the wagering industry. Rule 4 has been around for 100 years for a reason, bookmakers don't want their profits getting butchered if a fav is taken out. Most bookmakers will apply no deductions if the runner is a longshot but as for a favourite runners no way especially close to post time when their book % is matching the tote odds. It won't be history getting shaken up it will be their end of year financial result. If a wagering partner takes over 100% you won't see a promo like this around. Freda
What wagering partner would want us?

What a good question Freda, I have sat here and thought who would want us and I keep thinking Somalia TAB or on a good day maybe the Indian TAB.
Newmarket
Maybe you all should look at what Aussie operators offer each weak? NZ Tab need to compete, simple as that.

NZRacing
race 1 at Rangiora tomorrow the fixed odds % on the race is 150%. At least Dick Turpin would be proud of the NZ TAB. And they seriously wonder why NZ punters are betting overseas. Edited December 17, 2022 by NZRacing
NZRacing
In that race 1 at Rangiora the fav opened at $3.60 now into $3.20 but no runners have moved out to compensate for the price change. Pretty poor and ordinary form. Unless you believe that a runner is over the odds stay away from betting into early markets on the NZ TAB you won't beat the house with a % overlay like they put into the race book.
