Very pleased to hear Craig Rail doing the commentary at Invercargill today. I find his calls very easy to listen to, is accurate and well informed. Needs to be used more.

I am interested in the meeting. I am keen to see the two year old. Strike rate trainer, Alister Black, has another top liner in Captain Tom. The gelding smashed them in his debut at Winton last week. It will take something special to beat him. Da Vinci can win. He has ability and raced in harder fields than this. Draw doesn't help him. But any thing can happen in a 2yo half the field break, you never know.

Cup looks a three horse go... BD Joe, Spankem and Self Assured. I think Spankem can surprise win if he gets a soft run on two or three back on fence. The Kirsten Green trained runner can place at good odds.
