    • Yes some good thoughts there mate. John Dunn certainly has the chance to win this GN Derby now drawn well , and the horse going well too. I was picking the Handsome Colt 'Choc's' to win a Derby right after his big runs from bad draws in the Sires stakes and that late last year just behind Marketplace. Go the Choc's !!! 🏆  Marketplace has been beaten by him several times, and Rubira. What happened to him ? Rubira  not in Derby ?  and great to see some credit for Ben Hope for a change too for his last win with MM. a great observation by you Mr Galah. Forums have given him an absolute 'Bashing and Mashing ' over the years , even when he was a junior, but he still Won a Heap of Group 1's with Muscle Mountain , and had to take on one of the greatest trotters ever to do it too. (in 'Sundee's Son' )  so good luck to Ben and his family in the Anzac Trot , He will have to drive well again to win , as is a handy field off 10m . Whoever gets around the front markers first will win it IMO. get going early and get around em' will Win the day. there's A Vic and QLDer having a crack at it too . will be a great race. Go the Anzac's !!

    • Ten years after American Pharoah won the Triple Crown in 2015, becoming the first horse to sweep the historic series in 37 years, the now 13-year-old stallion gives the appearance he might still be fit enough to run a classic distance.View the full article
    • There is no dispute that this is definitely true.  Only a halfwit would contemplate selling a freehold venue with a guaranteed annual income from the adjoining lifestyle village, a sizeable amount in the bank, a profitable jumpout model which provides a valuable tool to central trainers and riders (and beyond).  The racing club also currently runs three race meetings, comes up with a few innovative ideas, and has a committee which includes younger more energetic bodies than your average racing club. All this down the drain to prop up racing clubs with obvious poor management of both their business and infrastructure. NZTR has an amazing knack of finding CEO's who don't amount to much.
    • Posted this on another Topic: Well they need to find capital from somewhere to fix Trentham.  In my opinion that is a sink hole. Few realise that if it wasn't for substantial interest free capital lent by the local councils to the Wellington Stadium Trust that venue would run at a loss.  So given the number of events held at that venue how do they expect Trentham that holds 12 race meetings a year (no trials, no jumpouts, no horse training revenue) and limited non-racing facilities for functions expect to make a profit?
