    • so this is  social media site. The current  topic reflects what you typically see on this forum and its got a lot of comment from regular contributors.  and there you are generalising how you would sum up people who post on here,or say the other channel. so your either going to say,yes they are as  described or no you weren't meaning the current ones posting.Of course if you weren't meaning the current ones posting then you undermine your own comments on what you describe as  the typical poster. Also tell me,if many are anonymous like you say,how do you know so much about their personalities, motives and how they feel after posting and how they see the world. is the reality not, there will be people as you have described but your generlisation is just that. In other words your taling a smaller % of posters and placing greater emphasis that they are representative of all posters and people who comment on social media.Doesn't that reflect on how you see the world as well. so you post a put down generalisation of social media posters ,while knocking people who post put down generalisations on social media..Whats the point in that
    • No I agree, but they undertook a survey & clearly didn't like the results  so we haven't seen anything yet.  So why do it ? It shows how delusional they are to expect a positive result to their survey that should tell you all you need to know about them.
    • Probably the most pertinent statement in your post.
    • There is a lot wrong with it.  Because it is pervasive doesn't mean that it is good.  Slavery was OK once.   I would suggest that if someone uses gossip for anything more than it is then they lack intelligence. I've seen people's lives damn near ruined through unfounded gossip.  It is too easy with readily accessible social media to turn a piece of gossip not based on fact into a narrative that becomes the "truth".  Unless you are financially loaded it is near impossible to turn that around.  If the weight of individuals supporting the narrative is great enough then you can't change it. So when I hear someone saying I know someone who said such and such about so and so and then others feed into it and fuel it I come down hard on it.  Where are the FACTS?!  Support what you assert don't just repeat what you heard or wanted to hear. That's another reason why I think AI the way it is being used at the moment is a crock of shyte and dangerous to boot.  AI is based on algorithms that classify "truth" based on the number of times something is repeated on the internet weighted by the assessed reputation of the person and or entity that said it.  Not to mention the delivery of these facts in Google linguistic style and grammar - whatever happened to literary creativity?  From my experience to date it is so much harder now to find accurate information - my days as a Google IT Engineer are over.
