    • Well when you have a Slug-fest like that, No one on  the planet could set a market for slow horses like these? with No barrier advantage , and in Overly inflated size fields that give most runners NO CHANCE at all. would be like putting a market on the NZ sheep heading in to the shearing shed 😉. impossible.   Just a disgrace for harness racing that 56 horses have to go home with a ZERO next to their name, at the end of the days racing.  that's like a whole meeting of horses ? FIFTY SIX with ZEROES,  and with another 60 horses finishing between 5th and 9th as well , that's near 120 horses getting NOTHING.  NOTHing at all .  over 120 horses with Punters dollars on with ZERO return. 120+  horses in one meeting ZERO for owners. after paying the larger training FEES they have to these days.  That's Far Far to many losers on one day to sustain the industry.   Better to have 2 days of 8 horse fields where EVERYONE gets a chance to get something. and NO One at all gets a Zero next to their name. And gets a race start in the first place .  like Sensibly,  they do in Aus each week in every state that caters for their slow class horses so much better than this huge field crap from a by-gone era .  No wonder people are giving up in NZ racing horses. you  worried they can't set a market ?? hahahaha🤣 These stupid meetings ( that  are so bad you can't price them as you say) just Stack up the Losers.  p.s.  Only one good horse is in on the day (group 1 winner Oscar B 🏆 ) and there's 2 Junior driver races. Carter is excellent driver so should win both of those no matter what he's on lol 👍💰  so there's 3 wins for ya  🤣😂 what's the Value runners then  ?  or are you too scared  to name any ?  Brodster won't be diving in mate. He says he's a winner , so wouldn't be if betting on that racecard. Fools and their money .
    • Do you mean the Vela advisory committee? That is advisory to TABNZ. Nothing to do with NZTR if that's what you mean.
    • Gamma ,I see the ladies did not get near podium in Pole Vault., Like our NZ horses we have so many potential World Champions in our midst if they get the right conditioning and training/coaching. I've seen it so often over the years ,where young athletes get noticed and put on the path to become a top performer on the big stage. Its often a mixture of dedicated Coaches motivating the kids to be their best and their inherent talent with attitude ! Dunno too much about HKerr but he was from Palmy North and  Auckland Grammar School and competed on World stage like the World Uni Games and kept it up thru his mid-20's.  Beamish boarded at School in Whanganui and then went to USA for Uni Scholarship. There are hundreds of  NZ kids in USA on Sports Scholarships. Without this most junior sports are User pays to represent on big stage , and many can't afford it. Look at Steven Adams.I remember when he a Wellington U17 rep ,I would watch him and the other parents would scoff...he not much good ,just BIG ! Well his mentor and coach put and kept him on the road to greatness. An individual in a team sport. There are over  50 young NZ Basketballers on USA scholarships ! I think over 30 volleyballers and many other Athletes. My neighbour went as a runner and ran in 2 x Olympics.Tasman had a volunteer  Athletics coach  [Greg L] whose athletes held the 4 x1500m relay under 16 world record. They all went overseas ! Those polevaulters are mostly from the same club North Harbour who specialise in Pole Vaulting ,next to NZ Sport High performance ! Not many clubs /schools even have Pole Vaulting ! Talent spotting sometimes gets into the smaller regions.League legend Simon Mannering was spotted drifting around in Nelson College rugby and hustled into Auckland Rugby League. Our shotputters ,at least one anyway was noticed in the back blocks of South Island. Australia has long had a very well financed Sports institute....set up after Montreal 1976 when Australia bombed out ...haha....from memory ! Back to the horses....Hong Kong and overseas buyers will be in stand looking for next Champion in fast approaching Ready to Run and Yearling sales ...and there will be some there !
