    • I thought the same regarding the use of the whip,I had a decent punt on the horse because as I have said before she has got the X factor, but I noticed before the race she was a bit on the toe and sweating, and when you could see 300m from the finish she was traveling like the winner, in fact getting further ahead, I would have thought she didn't need to pull the stick and let her have an enjoyable day, Just my opinion
    • I guess that would be consistency. Only problem with that is ,using your policy, once a driver does drop a foot from the footrest, why would they keep trying, as they know they are guaranteed disqualified anyway. and exactly what point in a race.and why. Just a note. Alan pyers again dropped his foot from the footrest yesterday, this time on a different horse to the first day.He actually did so for over half the length of the straight, at the finish of that race. No foul driving charge again. Just a common sense approach with a $100 fine. You see, although he was in contention at the time he dropped his foot,no one really could say, that he intentionally did it to gain an advantage. Then again, hes lucky hes not in victoria i suppose. Also i note the same driver who drove with his foot out of the foot rest at methven for the whole length of the straight at the start of a race, may actually do it regularly as he did it again yesterday. No mention again as ,once again,i think people know it wouldn't be intentional to gain an advantage. What would victorian stewards make of his driving?
    • Yes , that is so great having some Luck in Life. You are surely nearly the luckiest around . (By getting to enjoy both the terrific worlds of racing and Harness racing along the way , with the amazing animals and the thrills they give along the way. In fact ALL the posters on here and racing NZ and Oz forums are in the top 1 % > of the Top 1 % of All People on the planet, as they not only get to enjoy the racing, but Enjoy Life in 2 of the Top 10 'Ranked' countries for quality of Life,  in the World. NZ is Number one holiday destination for some , but a great place to retire as well.  Hey TABman >> With some success in the racing with some Group 3's there , and probably some nice gallopers , you might be in the top 1% of the 1% of the 1% 🤣🤣 (probably a Sir Edmund Hilary relative or something ? high up the mountain lol 😂. I missed out having or driving a Group horse at all alas, battling in the back-blocks, but feel lucky still with being a part of the great sport for quite some time , and wishing it well and even in it's (harness racing) twilight years still can see and enjoy a few things.  but I do get AFL as national sport which is a bit better than rugby lol 🏆😉 Brissy won too 🦁 NZ and Aus citizens the luckiest on the planet if they just sat back with a beer and pondered on it, especially those enjoying the racing ,  or bothering to post on the forums to encourage the sport in their own way , whether it be a bet or just some thoughts / or memories (as that is part of heritage) and even some involvement going forward. mmmm . now I wonder if Chief will buy me a yearling at the sales so I can get Group 3 status ? 👍💰🏇😁    think I need some black print in my twilight years 💰🤣
    • Yep disqualify them all.  Black and White no defence no  mitigating circumstances.
    • Kheir buys NZ Oaks fancy www.racing.com   Prominent owner Ozzie Kheir has purchased next month's New Zealand Oaks favourite Leica Lucy, with an eye to further Group 1 Oaks races in either Sydney or Brisbane this autumn.   Leica Lucy, who has won three of her four starts in New Zealand, is due to race at Te Rapa in G2 company on Saturday as she progresses to the NZ$1 million New Zealand Oaks (2400m) at Trentham on March 22.   Leica Lucy will race in partnership with her current owners and breeders Peter and Heather Crofskey and will continue her preparation for the New Zealand Oaks under the guidance of her current trainer Robbie Patterson.   Kheir said on Monday that the deal, which was brokered by Mathew Becker of Group 1 Bloodstock in conjunction with Bruce Perry, will see Leica Lucy transferred to champion trainer Chris Waller at Rosehill after the Oaks for a potential ATC Oaks tilt in April.   Leica Lucy is likely to start a short quote on Saturday in the G2 David and Karyn Ellis Fillies Classic as she steps to 2000 metres for the first time.   Kheir has been active in New Zealand of late, with three purchases out of the recently completed Karaka sales.   A Proisir filly and a Sword Of State filly are to be trained next season by Ciaron Maher, while Waller is to be the trainer of a brother to Stakes winner Scarlet Oak.
