    • His misinformation about the track design and implementation for one.  He is either misinformed or deliberately talking BS. As for being constructive he has been far from it.  I don't find rabble rousing as constructive. Do you really think that calling a owner and trainer mercenaries by and suggesting they put their horses at risk on a perfectly safe track - constructive? The reality is he was oblivious to the issues until people such as yourself provided the information to him.  Where was HE @Transparency when the issue was evolving?  What did HE do to arrest the evolution of the problem? What were the Riccarton trainers doing?  Cowering from the likes of @Pitman and Mills? I raised the maintenance issue on BOAY well before the AWT was built.  If I'd been on the ground at Riccarton with an interest in a horse I'd have been checking regularly that the required maintenance work was being done. What I don't get is how trainers just put up with the issues that fundamentally affect them the most.
    • If trainer Jamie Osborne and Heart of Honor seem out of place at Pimlico Race Course, it's probably because there hasn't been a starter in the Preakness Stakes (G1) bred outside of North America since the Ireland-bred Celtic Ash in 1960. View the full article

    • Owing to a lack of entries, the live racing program scheduled for Tuesday, May 20 at Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack (FLGR) has been cancelled. According to a release from the track, the lingering impacts of a long winter combined with a wet spring resulted in trainers having limited opportunities to sufficiently prepare their horses for the season. The track says it is hopeful that entries will return to a more normal level as the inventory of fit and race-ready horses increases to the point where a Monday-through-Wednesday racing schedule is sustainable. “At Finger Lakes, we strive for large fields which create attractive wagering opportunities for our patrons,” said FLGR Racing Secretary Jerry Richards. Racing is scheduled to take place next Monday and Wednesday, May 19 and 21, with a first post of 1 p.m. ET each day.
