    • Kate often goes for training runs while at the provisional day trots in Victoria,  if there's an hour or 2 in between her drives. to use up the time. sometimes runs for an hour, then jumps back in the sulky' and Wins. she is a legend !!  I haven't been to the Interdom Final for quite some time , but have been to about 10 overall. The First was Gammalite winning at Auckland , when I was teenager, and I was selling $2 rosettes for all the runners,  all 4 nights to support the action. Love All the horses. over to Aussie a few years later, and from Victoria,  I was aboard the 9 horse semi transporter on the road up to the 1980's Brissie Interdominon that ex-pat kiwi 'Village Kid' dominated with a Clean Sweep. QLD trainer Jimmy Retchless was returning to Home after a successful Moonee Valley campaign as well . we had 8 horses onboard . Alas, The One that was going to compete in the Interdominion , went 'Down' on the truck unfortunately. We had to unload the 8 horses in the middle of no-where at a truck depot  ( a 24 hour road trip Mel to Bris is) and try and give the horse a "DOUBLE Space' on the truck. In the end,  He did start the first night while wearing more 'Band-aids' than Chemist Warehouse has 🙄 . I felt terrible that happened. The gutsy Horse ran 4th still   . but then ran last on the 2nd night behind Village Kid (who had won by 10 lengths in very fast time) .  'Village Kid ' was the early days 'Leap To Fame' with a terrific record  .  even better than Vinnies 'Popular Alm'  IMO.
    • Whitebait has no idea  !   Indeed  Gamma , not likely to be matched ...the Parsons , Nolans and maybe Mark Purdon have achieved and /or tried to achieve big success in both Codes but unlikely any will start to ride jumpers ! Graeme Rogerson has a CV which covers a lot of things in Harness/Gallops including riding ...over a log period. Michael House is another , currently still a contender for leading Harness Trainer and many will forget that only a few years ago he won the "Emerging  Trainers ' award at the Annual Gallops Awards. Well known harness trainer/driver Robbie Holmes a descendant of Maurice and Freeman Holmes dabbles in gallops too......certainly still rides work as he appears in this weeks "Unhinged' Beach report video on FB. Check it out !
    • Sure Billy a little clap and some warm fuzzies provide those pouring their hard earned into racing with a little joy ! I'm sure you enjoyed those 'student of the week ' and ' player of the day' awards back in the day. In fact I believe you have a knighthood , Sir Billy , as well as many BAFTA and acting awards. In fact on your tour of NZ I paid big money to hear you talk ...I particularly remember your description of Dunedin with everyone in a time-warp wearing their fawn cardigans with buttons etc...after 27 years there I left immediately. And you well known for your Optimism , making the most of opportunities ,the worlds a great place to live in. Pessimism is a luxury you can't afford....pessimism is for losers ! You a very wise man Sir Billy , I hope you get a liitle clap too !
    • Matthew Chadwick is hoping to make his move in the race for the Tony Cruz Award with a strong book of rides headlined by Bravehearts in the feature Class Two Begonia Handicap (1,800m) at Happy Valley on Wednesday. The 34-year-old will arrive to the Valley on the 34-winner mark for the campaign, just two behind leader Matthew Poon Ming-fai and one ahead of fellow hopeful Derek Leung Ka-chun in the race to be the season’s leading local jockey. Chadwick is hunting down a second Tony Cruz Award and...View the full article
    • Does anyone know if he's had any luck over in NSW?.From what i've seen he hasn't ridden a winner yet??. Think he's been mainly riding in the country lately, rather than in town. I wonder if he'll stick it out until the end of Winter? or come back early?.Definitely has the talent, just needs to catch a break i guess.
