    • What a load of poppycock. Most horses would just pull up and start eating the grass if they had the choice of what speed they would like to run at , at the end of a race. The horse doesn't decide itself to just go harder.   The Whip is the CUE, to go hard and go fast as you can. They'll get no-where near their best performance without some sort of cue. I do agree a Flank strike is completely un-necessary altogether as per your arguement . so Why not wave the thing up outside the blinkers or loud slaps on the shoulder to give the horse the CUE it needs to go hard.   Well there is always hypocrisy Chief. Look at all the dumbarse retired Rugby League and Rugby players who are trying to sue the NRL and rugby board for 'Damage to their brains' accumulated from being in an ''Unsafe' working environment where they constantly got head knocks for their 20 year careers.  Hindsight Syndrome lol 🤣 But anyway it's the sport of Kings . Many Multi Millionaires and Billionaires . with the chinese Yulong fellow in action down under with Via Sistina and that,  and all the Shiehks trying to beat each other up at Royal Ascot , RACING will keep going for ever !!!!! so don't worry about those anti- racing wankers Chiefy mate. the anti-racing mob Haven't got a hope in the World of stopping the 'Money' . even The Grand National even still runs at Aintree after all the years of protests  (race which has a bit of attrition over the years ,) anti-racing mobs are just told to stay outside the gates. They don't own the horses, and people can do what they like with them . (humanely) .
    • Harold Kirk and Willie Mullins bought the top three lots during the opening day of the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale on Wednesday. A gelding by Nathaniel from Castledillon Stud caught their eye at €180,000. Sold as lot 138, he is out of the dual listed winner Floressa (Poliglote), who had placed at Grade 1 level over jumps. The gelding was an €87,000 pinhook from Goldford Stud. Earlier in the day, the duo had purchased Miss Mam (Masked Marvel) for €150,000 from Oak Tree Farm, and Mystere Du Chenet (Doctor Dino) for €120,000 from Moanmore Stables. Overall, they bought four lots on Wednesday. Miss Mam was a €47,000 buy as a 2-year-old. Kirk said, “All the horses I am buying here will be purchased with the €100,000 Tattersalls Ireland MSL Mercedes-Benz Sales Bumper in mind – moving the race to a December date works well for us and it gives us options.” The inaugural Derby Sale 2-year-old session was topped by an Ectot half-sister to the Grade 1 winner Hearts Are Trumps (Oscar), bought by Dan Skelton and Ryan Mahon for €100,000. Turnover for the first day's trade was €7,142,000 for 150 horses sold from 196 offered (77%). The average was €47,613 (+2%) and the median was €42,000 (+11%). • noted. we actually book accommodation for that last meeting, but cancelled when the notice re track inspection kicked in... sigh, will have a look at that spring meeting.
    • “In a time when perception matters more than ever, this is a welcome and timely step forward.” “This isn’t about PR or spin. It’s about showing people what actually happens and trusting that the truth speaks for itself.” I quest it might be time for me to head off to the back paddock and bring in the full sister to the great Pinocchio!  I be willing to sell 5% shares at $10000. Planning to set resulting strapping young colt for the G1 two year old races and then later go for the Derby and as a 4 year old either the Cox Plate or Melbourne Cup, though will keep open having a go at the Everest! Aldous Huxley has agreed  to take a small share and also train the champ for us!!!  Regards,  George Orwell   ps, minimal propaganda was used in this post!
    • I've raised that before. You'd think so but it seems to be a mutually acceptable variance to that.
