  1. 6 Races - 56 horses. I hope they realise that the industry needs these races to pay for Tier ONE Stakes. Won't be much profit from HB!

  7. Goober Godber is in charge of the RIU - are you letting him off the hook?
  8. There are 7 meetings programmed in 14 days in the CD. No wonder Hawkes Bay is struggling.
  9. Doesn't bode well for the West Coast next week then - 3 meetings in a week. Although the law of averages says one of those will be cancelled due to weather.
  10. Have horse numbers in the CD dropped to below levels to sustain racing in the District? If it wasn't for the Northern visitors the fields would be decimated. The Taranaki track isn't the best in the CD by a long stretch - is that the reason for the lack of numbers? Or was it a dumb idea to run two meetings two days apart? Maybe it highlights how stuffed our supposedly 2 Tier systems is - any trainer/owner with any brains would wait for the Premier meetings if numbers are low.
  11. Only about 55 nominations for HB meeting. Seems to be the trend in the CD at the moment. Can't understand the logic of the two meetings two days apart at Taranaki. MEETING NEWS Hawke's Bay RI | Friday 1 January Nomination Morning Weather: Overcast Track: Dead 5 | 4mm Rain Last 48 Hours Rail: True | 25mm Irrigation Yesterday Weather and Track last updated at 8.49am Monday 28 December All races will remain open with the NRB until 9.00am Tuesday 29 December. More Nominations are required for this race meeting to proceed.
  12. It would have been back in the late 70s early 80s that the popular identity around the racecourses of the Coast was Freddy Tibbles and one of his horses called Tony who is shown here with my son Tony McIntyre on Freddy's horse. It was a well known fact that in particular following the race meeting at Victoria Park Raceway Freddy would put his Tony into the home paddock alongside the Caretakers House and go to the pub. my dad would tend to feeding and watering until Freddy would return, which was sometimes days later to collect his Tony. Tony knew his way back home to Boddytown where Freddy lived and sometimes that was just as well as it was known that Freddy didn't know his way home himself. Freddy was a lovely person to speak to
  13. Linden Kilkelly.." I was mining near Fred's house, I was camping in Carlton Symes hut. Fred's house burnt down Fred moved into a nearby Hut...we used occasionally to town for a beer. He got us thrown out of the Aussie one night. He was having a pretend heart attack on the floor......there were a lot of Backpackers from the Camp ground there. I was kicking him (Gently)Get up you silly old C....Then about four impressionable young backpackers wanted to kill me for kicking the lovely old man. Anyway we both got thrown out. So we went to the Rec!When travelling into Marsden on the Gravel Dusty Road....if you encountered Fred on his horse....he would be in the middle of the road, appearing not to see or hear you...you would have to stop. Fred would then pretend to notice you and say Hi!The reason that he done this was so that you would have to stop, then he would say hi and the dust would settle...he and the horse wouldn't get covered in dust."
  14. Fourth from left top row is Fred. Dunganville School 1912-13.
  15. I wasn't far wrong with 110. Fred was 83 in 1992 when Country Calendar did a piece on him. That would make him 111! Which means he was in his 60's in the 70's!
  16. Actually I think it was Dunganville not Notown. Which was about 25 km from Kumara and the same distance to Omoto.
  17. Every kid that lived on the Coast probably patted that old grey horse of his!
  18. Fred would be about a 110 now! Shit he was damn old when I was a kid on the coast and that was 50 yrs ago! I think he and his horse used to live in Notown which was about 15 miles from Kumara. He used to ride it the track!
  19. Thanks Karrots. I'll put up some selections however they'll be most likely crap as I tend to follow the Thoroughbred form more closely.
  20. I will not take that action and I have never taken that action. I gather from your posts and correspondence that you have outstanding issues with Molloy and MacKenzie. I suggest you take it up with them directly.
  21. You said you were leaving so what does it matter if you are moderated? I'm sorry but I will not be cuckolded on my own site. A site that I have put a considerable amount of my own time and money into. As for being sanctimonious that is your opinion which I disagree with. If you think free speech runs to allowing you and the likes of Heslop and Lane to post on my site criticising the platform that gives them that opportunity then you must think I have rocks in my head. As for Hesi aka Alan Heslop he is a liar and I'd be quite happy to post his correspondence publicly. I was threatened with legal action by Scooby using Bell Gully for the actions of Heslop which I had no control over. I'd be happy to post that information as well.
  22. Yes. Schofer was also allowed to ride but Sharrock used a rule allowing him to scratch. H Schofer was unable to make the carded weight for DARCI LA BELLA being in excess of 1kg over. Connections opted to and were given permission to scratch the filly under Rule 534(2)(a). H Schofer was fined the sum of $200 under the Minor Infringement Rule.
  23. Are you and Gai's Tom soul brothers?
