  3. Can you both put each other on your ignore list? That's a feature that hides the posts of those you should ignore. Counting to 10 still works for me. Well except for JJ Flash.
  4. If that's the case then why the need for verti-draining?! Seems like they have lost control of the irrigating and/or a hard crust has formed on top.
  5. Obviously too late to assist the trials today. What about Sunday? Which is a problem because if you have got it wrong in the prior days you are vulnerable to showers on the day. Regardless it is all symptomatic of an underlying problem - stuffed soil structure. Doesn't matter anyway because next year the trials will be on the new Polytrack!
  6. Actually I have a problem with it. The problem is you very rarely if ever post anything else other than an attack on one poster. That is the definition of an internet troll. Which is clearly evident when you post the opposite view and have no depth of knowledge to support that view. Unfortunately other people feed off that negativity and it ruins good debates.
  7. Where else is it coming from? I bet they've done it at Avondale since that debacle. NZTR were engaged to advise on that issue. Yes my understanding of the outcomes of verti-draining is the same as yours. However you don't achieve those outcomes in 3 days. What you will end up with is a loose top still on top of a hard soil.
  8. So I guess they are irrigating between now and Friday because there is stuff all rain forecast. Also verti-draining 3 days before the trials would be a bit late wouldn't it? Unless you are working on a short-term fix which it appears was the case for Riccarton. It would appear that verti-draining as a stop gap measure is being pushed by the NZTR National Track Manager.
  9. Why did they feel they needed to make the distinction?
  10. So the verti-draining on the Riccarton track done less than 14 days before race day was "pre-scheduled"?
  11. I'm waiting for the draw. In my opinion the horse that wins sits just off the pace and has the last crack. Behemoth has a good form line.

  13. Obviously same problem as Riccarton. Seems vertidraining is the panacea - NOT! MEETING NEWS Rangiora Trials - Tuesday 20 October The Rangiora trials cancelled today have been re-scheduled for Tuesday 20 October. New nominations will be taken. 15. If you want to make money as a slot holder you need to finish 5th or better. Been some amazing final gallops by key players. Check out Eduardo. Always under a hold for new race jockey Rachel King, Eduardo toed her around in a sizzling 46.24, the 600m cruising in first gear at 32.63. Forget about the opposition, watch him after the line charging as there was a slight drop of the reins. Some perspective came with fellow Everest player Bivouac in the next heat, a comfortable winner in 47.62s, the last 600m in 33.28s, though not casting times as a true comparison, just for a reference.
  16. They've already chosen a replacement getting in at the last moment. Otherwise they would have had to have taken one of the emergencies. They've chosen the Mcevoy trained horse Dollar For Dollar.
  17. MEETING NEWS Rangiora Trials Cancelled for Today The Rangiora trials scheduled for today have been cancelled after a track inspection early this morning. Further information will be sent out later today.

  23. I doubt they have the power to use that as the sole reason to stand him down. Has he failed another test? I would have thought that as long as he turns up sober within the limits then he'd be fine and the what he does outside riding is none of their business.
