  1. From my perspective the issue is bigger than just one horse. We are worried about integrity in the industry and animal welfare but the system allows a rising 7 yr old gelding to turn up week after week with no chance of either giving a punter, the owner, the trainer or the quality of a race a positive outcome. Isn't that the reall issue? As a racing jurisdiction we are slipping further and further into a backwater. FFS there are enough RIU and Industry Admin staff to address these issues and try and get some quality back into racing.
  2. He must be in one of his manic states. I'd only go to the hearing for the entertainment value. As it stands I think both sides are as despicable as each other I wonder if he will take something to stand on. He'll pontificate in long speeches which will have no references to any legal principle or precedent. The JCA will give him some time then close him down and then he'll spout on about Human Rights etc. In that regard I agree with Bob Jones's recent opinion - there are no Human Rights.
  3. You might need to have a lie down.
  4. Lost in translation.
  5. The Spitfire has obviously been better educated.

  11. I thinking more along the lines of why it is allowed to start by both HRNZ and the Stipes.
  12. What I can't understand is why they haven't been warned by the Stipes. At the moment all it amounts to is a public flogging of a horse.
  13. Watch your language please.
  14. Nothing is ever deleted on BOAY. If you can't stop yourself from posting then that's your problem not mine.
  15. Doesn't Bowman actually admit it in his statement: I endeavoured to make a run to the outside of Glyn Schofield (on Mr Colorful) which I had every right to but in doing so I was going to have to move Andrew slightly but I felt that I was able to do so,” Bowman said.
  16. Yep in those images he goes for a long holiday. Also the argument about the leader rolling out doesn't hold much water. FFS where was the gap!
  17. FFS don't you understand Satire?!
  18. STEWARDS Uncompetitive galloper banned from racing at TAB venues Article Author Ben Dorries 12:06PM26 July 2020 3 Comments As debate rages in Victoria about whether lowly-rated horses should be banned from competing on the professional circuit, an uncompetitive Queensland galloper has been barred from racing at TAB venues. Victorian racecaller Terry Bailey got tongues wagging when he said the industry must review the problem of low-rated horses running out of their class to merely run for prizemoney paid down to 10th place. He claimed it was a blight on the industry and was eroding punter confidence. On Friday, Queensland stewards took the decision to ban four-year-old gelding Amendola from racing at TAB venues after it ran 25.5 lengths last at Ipswich in his first race for 14 months. Amendola had started $101 in the 1200m Ipswich maiden and might as well have been $1001. Amendola has now been beaten out of sight in all four of his career races, The son of Group I winner Falvelon made his debut on the Gold Coast in October 2018 - finishing last of 11, beaten 15.5 lengths. His subsequent runs produced thumping defeats by 10 lengths and 18.5 lengths at Beaudesert and Ipswich respectively. Stewards told Ipswich trainer Geoff Livermore the galloper would be barred from racing at TAB venues. "As the gelding had not raced for over 12 months, it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start," the stewards' report read. "Connections advised that it would be the intention to limit the use of the whip on the gelding. "Tightened between runners leaving the 800m. "Trainer G. Livermore was advised that the gelding, which performed poorly today, will be barred from TAB venues until such time as its form improves to a satisfactory standard." It follows the well-publicised recent case in Queensland where rising 13-year-old Fighting Heart was beaten 25 lengths on his return to racing after a seven-year absence and was then barred from racing at metropolitan tracks. Rising Heart turns 13 next Saturday and won't be allowed to race anywhere after that point.
  19. You can't help yourself can you Mehe. Do you have an opinion that justifies sending a soon to be 7yr old gelding around for its 48th start? I watched it race today for the first time - the horse doesn't want to be there!
  20. According to that it has never raced from a stand.
  21. I think the Stipes should question Orange over his drive. He had every chance to get off the rail the first lap and didn't choose to do so. Poor drive. 😉
  22. Third favourite on the tote. Looks like the money is on today. Or is that the Orange factor?
  23. At unders on the tote at the moment. Brodie you should have gone Fixed.
  24. Well done Freda. I don't think she will mind a better track either. Mind you that will be a while before you get one at Riccarton. Looks like Pitty is looking for better tracks too! 😉
  25. Tina rode a very well judged race. As for your mare being small - she does look good in the hindquarters. Which is something I like.
