  1. I'm ignoring it as it is twisted. I'll stand by what I've said - there is dishonesty and ineptitude exhibited by RIU staff that reflects on the organisation as a whole. The Question you should be asking is why haven't they been rooted out? That's not the ethos of BOAY. You are free to post whatever you want within the law. Unlike other forums you don't lose that privilege just because you are annoying.
  2. It is you that is playing with words. Mehe didn't mention staff he referred to the organisation as a whole. There is ample evidence to show that the RIU has big issues.
  3. Only takes one or two bad apples to make the whole bin rotten.
  4. There is more than two sides. I don't think ANYONE condones cheating however there is a common theme that the application of the rules (inadequate that they are) are done so inconsistently. To me that is an indication of ineptitude.
  5. I guess the RIU vs Kevin Morton JCA decision sets the ground rules for what can be said and can't be said.
  6. Mehe could argue that it is a widely held belief and/or the truth. There have been examples of that that are widely published. You should know by now that BOAY doesn't actively censor views it doesn't agree with. Unlike other forums. Liability at the end of the day rests with Mehe not BOAY. I do draw the line at racism and hate speech. In that area there is clear legislation.
  7. This is really the crux of the matter. How can there be any integrity when each code is separately responsible for their own rules that the RIU then presumably have to work under. There is extreme inconsistency between the codes.
  8. The RIU doesn't have any Racecourse Inspectors.
  9. The point is - no one is disputing the fact that the RIU can enter a licensed person's licensed facility. The questions are: Does that extend to entering a licensed person's private home? No. Is the RIU allowed to enter a licensed property without warning? Yes. Once there do they have to declare their presence? Yes. Are the RIU allowed to perform covert surveillance from outside the property or even on the property? That I doubt. JJ Flash - you seem to have a thorough understanding of the RIU processes and procedures. Can you clarify please?
  10. What are you suggesting we cull or sell our stock and hang the bridle on the wall?
  11. It's in my DNA. I've been listening to Sky Sports 2KY from Sydney. Streaming on line. Since Trackside is on holiday. I noticed they market things differently. For example there are TABCORP ads saying x amount of what you bet with us goes directly back to racing in Australia. Where is our equivalent marketing? Time our industry leadership showed some balls.
  12. 16 weeks to get you horse fit. Lobby government to implement the same setup as OZ has for their racing.
  13. Well they seem to be still getting paid to do something! We are still 16 weeks out. They should be lobbying Government with a detailed plan. Better to fail trying!
  14. All three will be spelling in Australia for Spring Racing.
  15. Good point. But I know they lobbied the TAB hard to give them something.
  16. My understanding is that the BGP twisted the TAB's arm tantamount to blackmail to get rebates. Again I may be wrong but the source was good. The leverage they used was they woukd bet offshore through an OZZIE account. They could legally do that as one of the key players in BGP is OZ based.
  17. Australian Legend Might and Power Dies at 26 Son of Zabeel died April 11 from complications related to colic. One of the all-time greats in Australian racing, Might and Power, died April 11 at the age of 26. The news was confirmed by Living Legends, a facility for retired horses where Might and Power had been since his retirement. The gelding was a seven-time group 1 winner in the late 1990s and is among the few horses to win the Foster's Melbourne Cup (G1), Foster's Caulfield Cup (G1), and The BMW Cox Plate (G1). He was also named Horse of the Year in Australia in 1997 and 1998. Might and Power was known for his extraordinary talent and frontrunning ability. He made all to win the Melbourne Cup in 1997 for Jack Denham and Jim Cassidy, recording one of the quickest times in the history of the race. Other career highlights from the son of Zabeel include setting course records with wide-margin wins in the Caulfield Cup, the Treasury Casino Doomben Cup (G1), and the Cox Plate. He won 15 races from 33 starts and amassed AU$5,226,286 (US$3,515,146) in prize money. Tweets from Living Legends read: "It is with the deepest sadness that we advise that one of the all-time greats of Australian racing, Might and Power, has passed away at the age of 26. We're completely heartbroken to lose this very special once-in-a-lifetime horse. "Late yesterday he was diagnosed with colic and rushed to Werribee Equine Centre for emergency surgery, but was unable to be saved."
  18. I liked Colette but you didn't have her at value. Toffee Tongue for a place was great value. I liked them because they were relatively fresh compared to the rest of the field and both had performed on a similar track last week.
  19. They know overall that they'll win versus the BGP. They don't have a great record of long term success. They have Ted selecting for them! As Mardi would tell you Probabeel was very poor value yesterday especially on that track. Didn't BGP plonk their dosh on well before the final track conditions were declared.
  20. I think Probabeel has that Zabeel quirk where they don't like soft/heavy sticky ground.
