  1. Not correct. They are not imitation and can contain enough morphine to register in a blood test. That is a documented fact. However they need to be fed within 12 to 24 hours to show up in a test. In saying that I wouldn't have thought feeding racing dogs bread was optimal nutrition!

  8. Posted by Editor | Aug 26, 2019 | Featured, Gallops, News Tallyho Twinkletoe and Aaron Kuru establish a winning break as they head for home in the Australian Grand National Steeplechase. New Zealand jumper Tallyho Twinkletoe has equalled the feats of a champion jumper of yesteryear with his dominant victory in the Grand National Steeplechase at Ballarat. Tallyho Twinkletoe became the first horse since Mosstrooper in 1930 to complete the Grand National Hurdle/Steeplechase double in the same year. Patrick Payne calls himself the “puppet trainer”, having taken over from Kevin Myers just days before the gelding’s Grand National hurdle victory at Sandown on August 4. Sent off favourite in Sunday’s 4500m-race, Tallyho Twinkletoe, under New Zealand rider Aaron Kuru, recorded a nine-length victory from Spy On You with sentimental favourite Wells, aiming for a fourth win in the race, another 2-1/4 lengths away third. Tallyho Twinkletoe’s victory followed the success of Sea King for Payne in last year’s Grand National Steeplechase. “I used to love Sea King, but this horse is the best horse,” Payne said. “He can take the race by the scruff of the neck. “It’s silly to say but from the mile he had them covered and took over 1000 (metres) out and not many horses can maintain a gallop like that. “For a steeplechaser to win the Grand National Hurdle last time and come out and do it again today, that shows his class.” Tallyho Twinkletoe won the New Zealand Grand National Hurdle in August, 2015 before a series of niggling tendon injuries kept him off the track until March, 2018. He had a light campaign followed by another extended stay on the sidelines before he was prepared for his Australian campaign. Payne was happy to deflect the glory to Myers and part-owner Jo Rathbone. “All the work was done before he came to my place,” Payne said. “The smartest thing I could do was not change anything, keep him the same weight and just produce him the same and thank God they put a great foundation under him.” Payne said to get the better of a champion like Wells was so pleasing. “What he (Wells) did in the Crisp Steeple, surely jumps fans appreciated his effort,” Payne said. “He was out on his feet at the 200-metre mark and he fought back and beat my horse (Slowpoke Rodriguez) and I was pretty happy to see him win. “So for this horse to get the better of him, it says a fair bit.” Craig Durden, husband of Wells’ trainer Kathryn, said they could not be prouder of the jumper’s performance in his attempt at a record-breaking victory. “He’s been beaten by a good horse,” Durden said. “He was admirable, what more can you say.”

  10. Going on previous years there won't be any results until late November early December. As far as I know they don't publish the turnover figures which they once did regularly and were provided via NZTR.
  11. All good Thomaas just as you were free to post on BOAY you are free to go. I refuse to be held to ransom by you or Hesi and his henchmen.
  12. I wouldn't bite the hand that gives you the platform to feed your ego if I was you.
  13. I think you have got that wrong. I know at least three who have ego's bigger than you and Thomaas combined.
  14. It's the state of NZ racing. We are running out of horses to fill fields.
  15. Yeah but nothing rated by Thomaas.
  16. But there is little or no relationship between women being involved in managing the industry and targeting them as a potential punter. Certainly at the club level.
  17. As a pale stale male I really hate being labelled as part of the problem. I can assure you I can party as hard as any 30 year old!! The issue is at the top - NZRB (RITA) and NZTR. Years and years of wasted resources and no investment or worse bad investment. The clubs have been starved. Wouldn't matter who you had running a club now as the bank accounts are empty.
  18. 24 Aug 2019 Cambridge Stud and staff are devastated to report the loss of Roaring Lion overnight from further complications, following two major colic surgeries three weeks ago. Roaring Lion had been making a steady recovery and his support team were very pleased with his progress. Unfortunately, he suffered a further bout of colic late this evening and the decision was made to put him down. Cambridge Stud would like to acknowledge everyone from Cambridge Equine and the stud who supported the horse through a very difficult time. We particularly feel for Roaring Lion’s UK connections, Sheikh Fahad al Thani and his family and David Redvers and his family at Tweenhills. Our loss is keenly felt in New Zealand but theirs is unimaginable.

  20. 22 Race Meetings tomorrow in OZ. TEN are NON-TAB meetings BUT have stakes to be won. Most more than our mid week meetings. How do they do that?
  21. In many of your recent posts the use of ellipses have been unnecessary to convey your point of view. Nor do BOAY posters know that you spent in excess of an hour constantly trying to get round the system. Thomaas I'm not being held to ransom by you or anyone else. Entirely up to you what you want to do within the constraints of the system. Now some individuals swear (including you) however aside from you they do not post with any level of ambiguity. What they say is clear and succinct. Admit it you are playing mind fuck games with the way you write hence the often vitriolic responses or derision you get. Given you have an apparent high level of literacy then it can be assumed that you do this deliberately. Up to you if you want to contribute positively and use more grammatically correct prose. You are obviously an intelligent individual so I'm sure it won't be difficult for you to adjust.
  22. Stop being a child Thomaas.
  23. All good. He hasn't been banned even though I was put under extreme pressure by another group to do so. Which is interesting I was looking through the personal messaging stats and it appears that there was quite a concerted effort behind the scenes to bring BOAY to its knees.
  24. It is for New Zealand tracks that haven't been properly maintained. Many of the trials are 850m - starting gates, pounding horses - neither help the ground. Anyway you provided some proof that there is something wrong with the track. I'm just listing the obvious causes.
  25. I guess you are being facetious! ? However did you read the article about fatality rates at Churchill Downs? Seems there is a correlation between bad weather and racehorse injury on their "all weather track"!
