    I my opinion, simply at the end of a very long campaign. She performed right up to her best in Sydney but I couldn’t believe it when I read that they were going on to Brisbane.

    I am sick of cheats so I hope that the lot are gone for all time. If that includes who I thought was an outstanding trainer in Birchley so be it. What pisses me off is that it may have even happened on our soil and genuine people got a fraction of the winnings that they deserved or should have got! I obviously have no proof, but where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

    Secret Stash Race 4 Riccarton First start in the South Island after a four month layoff. First up stats: 2: 2-0-0 Heavy stats: 1: 1-0-0 Soft stats: 1: 1-0-0 How can he be beaten with a drop in quality to what he is used to and unbelievable stats fresh and in the wet?

    The Dominion Post changed to the small format this week too , or was it last week! Anyway, one thing for sure, Racing will outlive Newspapers in my opinion.

    It is only reason that their turnover is slightly up for 6 months!? I get a free $5 bet almost every week. Last week I got two? This week I was offered one on Monday but it was mainly dogs and utter crap available to bet on so I didn’t even both using it. Earlier on when there was plenty of future bets available such as on the Sydney Championships and our Oaks and Derby I would simply throw it on one of those races to save the effort of trying to pick a horse from the crap available mid week. A man’s got to concentrate on work sometimes.

    Any comments anyone, given what’s starting to come out at the Smerdon Inquiry? Birchley, though comes from Queensland, so a long way from Smerdon! (Maybe!) Queenslanders over the years have proven to be more bent than the foal I got last year that required periostials on both front legs! I await further evidence and of course your learned comments.

    Shame Lyn and Tony Prendergast didn’t win though with their horse. Big race wins for them are few and far between, because of the size of their team.
