  1. Getting kind of late in the day for it to be released isn't it? Especially with Show Day tomorrow. Is it more like he has just been stood down for tomorrow to ease some of the pressure rather than a termination? Not sure about this.
  2. The cult just doubled in size. The suspended Den won't be able to pilot the Spitfire though. He could be just what the horse needs. Will be great following him.
  3. I think I heard the new CEO starts mid January. Time enough for the current top dog to get something underway. If he already has his money he may not have the motivation though.
  4. Why is Self Assured scratched? Can't handle two mobile races in 4 days? 😂 Just joking.
  5. There is a current CEO who should sort it out now.
  6. It is a touch because one should not blame a horse for what happens on a track. At least the Spitfire is a cult figure and plenty of grass racing coming up so he must be a chance as he is getting a bit more competitive.
  7. What is there a difference in treatment between that galloping starter who got stood down for an error at the start at Ellerslie (?) and Lamb?
  8. But that is it isn't. They brush over poor starts by ignoring them, howlers like the last the one in August and yesterday get varying treatment seemingly dependent on how big the day was. It is not good for the starter but this is business and yesterday was the biggest day of the business and he made a mess of it, not for the first time. I would dread to think what Australian punters would have made of it, never to bet again on NZ harness? HRNZ makes no mention of the start, Guerin and those within the system don't either. Stipes, with their report turn the other way out of convenience. The rules around late scratchings changed with no notice and during lockdown the suits made wildly reactive decisions to get rid of things but it seems the starter is a protected specie and I have had enough of that. Who is in charge and where is the leadership?
  9. Did you start it Rusty or was it the owner of Spankem? 😂
  10. Wouldn't it be nice to do something like that after yesterday. A revolt! However, with INCA as a backdrop it seems the politics of the starter, RIU etc is so complicated it would be up to the CEO to fix. Ask Brodie, if he has seen him lol.
  11. They turned down that possibility. Stewards discussed with Mr Lamb whether his viewing platform should be relocated but it was agreed that to move the platform could potentially raise other issues for the starts from that point. Mr Lamb promoted the idea of his assistants taking a more proactive role in ensuring that horses, and in particular those on the 2nd row, were in the correct position as the front row was forming up.
  12. Read it and weep. Makes no sense.
  13. It will take them awhile because they will have a lot to consider in regards to their reaction to the Cup start. Most sensible option will be to adjourn the matter for inquiry. There is no way they will have any detail in tonight's release. If they say nothing that will be telling, and if they do, they have lost control of the starts in regard to the starter and the fairness to horses and drivers.
  14. Speaking of reappearing.
  15. I am just quoting you. Thanks for the advice. Good to be a master of something than a jack of sweet fuck all like you.
  16. Not JJ. His opinions are his facts.
  17. Being shafted this afternoon.
  18. Me and Matt C must be both biased. I will apologize for both of us.
  19. Hear it here first. JJ thinks Matt Cross is biased against the All Stars. Your call. Live with it.
  20. Wonder what Ray Green thought of the start? Don't have to be a mind reader.
  21. Prophetic.
  22. or make the start fair so everyone has a chance.
  23. So after the running of the Cup, based on this bullshit above from another Lamb mess the powers can do two things. 1. Sack the starter and his assistants. 2. Issue charges to drivers for not following the instructions of Lamb. I dare the stipes to take on the drivers over the shambles of the Cup start.
  24. Good last question, Dougie.
  25. Time to go. After the performance where he was reprimanded for his incompetent start on a Sunday at Addington he reproduced the same incompetent mess in the biggest race of the year. There must be visible action taken over this because he literally gave the race to the horses on the outside of the front row. I especially feel sorry the second line. With the recent change in policy regarding late scratchings you could scratch half the field! I would say it is comical but the amount of betting money that was lost at that start is unacceptable. The lack of awareness by the starter is breath taking- What is he watching!!! I have had enough of this guy.
