Very nearly a disaster in the first, the riderless jumped the wooden wing so high it is amazing it suffered bugger all wrong with it. How bloody dangerous are those wooden wings, I thought they were to all be replaced. On a more positive note, that was a super days racing and the GN Hurdle an incredible run.

I was looking at the calendar last night realised we have booked an overseas trip when Karaka Million is on (never missed it before) & thought oh well who cares, unlikely to go to Karaka sales this year either. The debarcle that is Te Rapa has made me think that I really now have lost interest in that place & probably wont renew membership, I am off to Te Aroha on Sunday & I am hoping they honour the fact that it was supposed to be at Te Rapa where I don't get charged to get in. The harness thieves, well I honestly couldn't give a fark if they all end up inside for years, the public's view of racing was low before and now its hit a new one.
