Wonderful positive outlook there Robalan. Stake money doesn't seem to phase Dr L Chin. What a wonderful story on HRNZ today about him a hobby trainer with his runners in Jewels. Fantastic Guerin has picked up the smaller trainers & given a mention. Took a quick look thru & found L Driver also, has 1 in the trot, looks like another fellow hobby trainer with a decent UDR rate to boot. Oh my goodness guys this isn’t about me. Its about Gamms. I’m just telling him to keep posting. When someone states “they will stop posting” they have prob reached breaking point for whatever reason. Have done the same too with Brods when he once declared he would stop posting & another time private messaged Mikie & encouraged him to keep posting, when he declared he would stop. Mikie has unfortunately only posted once since. Chief was nice enough to reach out to encourage me to keep posting until 30 June. Yes I figured that Ludwig. Suspect he is a Nat voter & he thought I was a Lab voter, so just started down liking when I said just one positive news thing Arden had internationally re Covid. When in fact I am NOT any specific voter. Which tots contradicts his post on over-reacting etc & not handling it or liking it when others don’t agree with you. He tots took the whole encouraging Pembroke Playboy/Williamson the wrong way too. But Im not going to get into that. Who is the sensitive one. I have noticed all you do is hit the negative button oppose (which very view on here use) Mr who talks about over-reaction of others, offering up no reason for your dislike of the post to present your viewpoint and why, which would be so much better to get an understanding of what exactly it was that you disagree with but nope just hit the dirty old bad post button on a regular basis. But nevertheless less than 2 weeks to go now.

Remember the other ways to pick up points for fun comp are guess how many winners Cullen will have? Taking a quick look at numbers from stables and Cullen comes out on top with 17 so far qualified + 1 emergency. Dunn is next with 9, including Looee who has snuck into the 4 y-o boys after a withdrawal 😄 Telfers rounding up the top 3 with 8 qualifiers + 1 emergency Republican Party has been withdrawn after qualifying yesterday, so Mossdale Ben (Big Bang) are in 2 y-o boys. Am going to throw my guess in now, Cullen to take out of 3 of 9, both 2 y-o boy & girl races + 4y-o mares with Amazing Dream. Might upt it to 4 winners, but will await draw 3 y-o girls. Giving some of the others a chance if they draw inside her e.g. Darling Me, La Rosa, Life a Beach at Cambridge to lead or even trail. Any other guesses yet or are others going to await draws? 😄

Jonesy not Karrots, has come up with the correct answer 😁 As being lots of Group 1’s run on Jewels day. So Jonesy/Karrots take the final pre-bonus points 😁 On a side note 2 different people now have commenting/asking how many Group 1’s when Jewels convo come up. I might add this person was blown away by fact ALL 9 races were Group 1’s. They were like when I said "ALL races are Group 1", they were like, "what is there only 4 races on the day or something?". A def marketing angle, that may poss not be being pushed enough when selling the day to audience … not sure? Auckland based, with lil horse knowledge. They were like “this sounds fantastic, why have I not heard of this event. Im quite active on social media/facebook & I have not heard of this”. I pointed out “well they are advertising on their Facebook page under Camb raceway”. Which then lead to me showing them the fun video of horse running straight past the buckets, which they enjoyed, but funnily enough they were like "too much talking" at beginning & wanted to go straight to the funny bit. I, on the other hand as a harness racing enthusiast didn’t mind the talking. Its funny different peoples perspectives on things. Then they were like, "right we are going to this, might even have to get a group together"!

Do recall Shez All Rock winning, but wasn’t that for All Stars under Aussie owners? Feel free to correct me if Im wrong. The voice of reason there Galah as usual. In hindsight & with time to think of a response oppose being Jonny on the spot is much easier. However I do like it. So YES, great idea. Well I have to say that reading comments elsewhere where they are insinuating Ferguson was possibly cheating, is just rubbish & has motivated me to post that I concur with Tasman Man. Don’t like to put peeps down and everyone makes mistakes, BUT I too viewed it more as a driver error on Copy That. E.g had Nat been on I strongly suspect this would of happened. She goes for lead, lead not there, so she immediately pulls back sits parked - oppose pushing onto lead borderline Kamikazi styles. Home straight, from parked position, she would push Copy That past Steel the Show, A Dream would be 3 back running line coming potentially 4 wide and Copy That just potential holds off the challenge to win. At Camb come Jewels a lot harder to push passed a horse of similar ability over a mile, with those Camb corners & short straight. But last nite was possible had the above scenario taken place. Not having any of this cheating rubbish talk in that race. Heck Copy That stable had 1/2 the field in the race too.

Well The Lad won, Looee losing his 12th spot & is out of the Jewels, now relies on an unlikely withdrawal to gain a start BUT you never know. Thought Newman drove horse positively, not much else he could of done. Hard when up against Nat. Yip she is a STAR. What a test that was in open class race at Alex. Ferguson had ever right to maintain the LEAD, after being INSTRUCTED to lead by connections. And the connections of Copy That can't expect that EVERY horse, EVERY race will just hand the lead up. There was no team driving in the race & it was not a group race. The result a win to the Dream & a 2nd to Copy That. Moving forward to the Jewels, now it is clear Copy That can be vulnerable. So park him & you have every chance to beat him any of those others, Kango, Bad to the Bone, South Coast Arden, Pembrooke Playboy. Draw is sooooo crucial. Will update the 2 y-os for everyone with a runner next week.

Well The Horseman your not far off the mark there re point predictions heading into Rangiora. Ok so for my prediction, I'm thinking, its now Fitzy crown to lose. Id be wary of F Phelan, J.K & also S Wigg. All with a chance to overthrow current leader. I'd focus on getting points any number of points for my final 2 drives. Oppose no points. And think both runners have a chance of picking up points. Any mistake will be costly to gaining any points. Eg Kamikazi driving, moving too soon, not moving at all. So Fitzy will have to pull out all stops and be the BEST he can be to take the win. BUT that is what the comp is about. Who will take the 2021 Amateurs crown ?

Remember saying that in order for this to stop journo is to have to wait for him to retire as he isn’t far from retirement age. Do hope that the other 1 that writes regularly STILL publishes the wrong doings. They DO need to be told. BUT only ONCE or TWICE max same story. NOT 10 TIMES OTT thing we have been getting. Here is a personal story how this OTT 10 times reporting same story has directly effected me. Last weekend, with a school friend & her partner in car on way to dinner at Mount Maunganui. Friends partner says so “how have you been Karrots?”. Me “good blah, blah, oh & I brought another harness horse”. Friends partner - “don’t you have to cheat to win?” Me stunned by reply didn’t know what to say, so just murmured “hmmm”, wasn’t in mood to explain that it is likely only a small handful of cheats out of hundreds of honest participates, so just switched convo up to mention Jewels. “Actually there is a big race meeting coming up called the Jewels”. Them - “cool, any group 1’s?”. Me - “YES ALL OF THEM, big fun day, have got a dress ready”. Them - “Nice sounds like a great day”. Then the subject switched to a different topic. This is what I wanted to highlight here. Them - “don’t you have to cheat to win?” Is this what people in society think? Wonder what percentage of people think this? Made me feel like I am associated to a SLEAZY industry that is borderline underworld. And I am under no illusion as to where this type of thinking has come from. As a result will now be thinking twice moving forward about enthusiastically talking about MY harness horses. Just something I'm now aware of is a very negative tone out there in society. This person is def not someone that would be trying to put me down or be mean or anything, just obviously something that was the first thing that come to their mind when I said HARNESS HORSE. Going to something like a 1 off event e.g. Jewels where people get dressed up socialise, have a drink & try to pick a winner for the day, is different from an active regular involvement by owning a horse & therefore being somewhat associated to an industry.

Tonight looking at horses, Happy Place, Hugo George, Kowhai Park (who got 3rd last nite), Lynton Creek, The Blue Beat who was a (bit unlucky last nite 6th), Prodical Pete (who got 2nd last nite), all seem like potential chances to me as well as Fitzy's drive. A few of these horses raced last nite. Oh yes see that in the final race re Dalness First, has good form, & with Wigg on to weave her magic no doubt.
