  1. Talk about the Owners being quite happy that Ollie lifted Steel Prince over the line... To go directly into the Melbourne Cup!! Will they be so happy when he deserts them...after another NH neddy with a real chance in the race steps up...and Ollie steps in? Anyway..great celebrations and Ollie got high https://mobile.twitter.com/FlemingtonVRC/status/1132168807697473536
  2. So bazzo..you ask moi nicely here...yet on another site... The guys a nutjob Hesi, sorry I just have been bloody busy the last week & yet a bloody again sick with the flu. havent felt like doing a heck of a lot the last week. The wife has been coughing all night for 2 weeks and my eyes are out of my head. This has certainly been the yr of the sickness. Do I have doormat tatted on or painted?? My best advice is to lay off the 24 Whakachunga Stubbies you bloat up on Saturdays...nay..every day... ...take Lypospheric Vit C every 2 hrs when you feel a chill coming... ...don't wipe your nose with your snott covered sleeve...make that eyes and mouth as well...I bet you eat your bogeys too?? Yuck...and get your long suffering Wife to jab you in the ass with a flu shot while looking for somewhere to insert the Bluey... best
  3. Officially accepted by the Employers? Wtf do you mean? Read the Starters Manual...on the NZTR site...required bedtime reading All horses without Jockeys require leads and/or pull the reins over the head at the very least...besides I told you All NRS Staff have been "strenuously" reminded of their responsibilities wrt this... And to apply the brake on the Tractor then put it into gear while on a slope... And don't ever lie to Stipes...or Stipes lie to the public about the "failure of the Tractor's brake"...when it was the Barrier Boys who forgot to pull it on... ..nothing to do with a mechanical failure....
  4. Normally I wouldn't respond to someone who called me "a f in troll" for posting Sam Collett's celebratory fine as 300 instead of 400....idiot But seeing as this is about the tragic death of a horse...largely due to the fact a barrier attendant failed to follow accepted practice....I will.. The same occupation standards and acceptance applies to many professions in this line...Firefighters for example....they put their bodies and sometimes lives on the line...Its instinctive Ive put my body on the line when dealing with horses, especially young stock, and supporting fellow workers in extremely dangerous situations...over many years...It comes with the territory... Youd have noted though my criticism is largely with the Starters... Failing to follow Health and Safety Guidelines...and accepted safe practices... ...then plain carreless ignorance like the Avondale horse that failed to load... But they also LIE through their teeth... When asked by the AUCKLAND RACING CLUB why the Barrier Crew had left the Blanket off the runner up he said... "the horse alongside was playing up...so we got distracted...and had to devote resources to that...Im sure if it'd been Jamie's horse he would have wanted us to do that" When in fact the Australian horse started playing up AFTER In a Twinkling had gone in....total b/s then... Then proffered the information that one of his attendants, Leadbetter, was of the opinion that leaving off the Blanket didn't make any difference to the runner up in the Derby winning...wtf cares what he thinks as it's totally irrelevant... Of course we found out in the end that Trev was routinely leaving off Barrier Blankets on his Starter's Card lists..and leaving it to memory... Dont bother replying
  5. Very good post Freda....especially "centralised control and training"... Of course the Steeplechase one was simply awful...but again could have been avoided if Garry Philips was at all cognisant with the Starting Manual...which he wasn't... I saw the She's Gallant one but didn't mention it for fear of Being accused of 'over picky' Mudhoo was dumped off a fractious mare wasn't he...standing there while plenty of Barrier Attendants stood around watching him...no leads forthcoming... ...then it just buggered off slipping Mudhoo's tenious grip on the reins...cantered around to the straight and promptly slipped over in the mud...close to the outside fence...luckily avoiding it... Its just a bloody mess...
  6. So O'Malley's just about to challenge for the lead on PADDY BOURKE and about to pass the 'pin secured railing' that allows access to the track from the outside winter railing... Hannam is squeezing through a narrow opening forcing O'Malley even further towards the outside rail... O'Malley suddenly sights the access rail is down and part way out into the track and on his line...heading directly into the now exposed dead end railing... ...an extra push from Hannam...and PB impales himself into the old type aluminium butt end... The reason?? Someone under K Treweek's Course Management team...forgot to secure the "pins" WTF?? So yet another Human error from somebody "failing to do their job properly" as the RIU's Godber puts it... Any 'RIU Investigation' with fines and a solution that it won't happen again after a new 'health and safety' protocol is put in place that doubly secures the rail and gets cross checked by someone other than an 'I forgot' track employee?? Yea Na...there'll be an ' internal' audit and no public explanation as to who was responsible or what 'solution' has been arranged....and ticked off as another... 'FREAK ACCIDENT' avoided...like the now infamous MATAMATA DEATH...that wasn't avoided... The other matter that's glaringly obvious are these courses that stand alongside of Trentham..namely WANGANUI and ROTORUA as... ...ACCIDENTS WAITING TO HAPPEN....when running on single 'fast lanes'...especially the later two.... Just do what Riccarton did and overwater the outside 5M's...Its that simple...like inserting some pins and extra lashings of lash.... Read it and weep PADDY BOURKE (S O’Malley) – A request for a ruling under the provisions of Rule 902(1) was filed with the Judicial Committee. It requested that the Committee determine whether PADDY BOURKE’S chances were affected due to a section of the outside rail having fallen to the ground near the 100 metre mark, where runners make their way out on to the track from the enclosure, which then protruded out on to the track proper. In attendance at the hearing were the rider S O’Malley, trainer’s representative Mrs Oulaghan, and RACE representative K Treweek. Mr O’Malley advised the committee that despite racing in tight quarters his chances of finishing in a higher placing had been materially affected by his having to take evasive action to avoid making contact with the fallen section of rail. After viewing footage it was established that the rail had been in place when runners left the enclosure but had somehow become dislodged after horses headed to the start. The JCA was of the opinion PADDY BOURKE had been denied the opportunity to finish in a higher position and was subsequently declared a non-runner with all investments being refunded. The rail was examined following the inquiry and it was considered pins may not have been correctly inserted after the previous race by ground staff.
  7. I'm sorry to be a pain in the ass Weas..but this was NEW info.... ...and this is dealing with the DEATH of a much loved Mare...so I don't care The hopeless RIU's Godber was resolving to take NO RESPONSIBILITY for the situation... ...where the RIU's training of these Barrier Crews...in particular the Starters... ...has clearly proven to be insufficient to maintain a safe environment for these Horses...not because "if only they did their jobs"... Not only did the 2 attendants fail to follow the accepted safe protocols as set out... ...but the Starter failed to remind these two about the requirement of the need to have a lead on this mare.... It's a rotting fish head...starts at the top... Godber's ignorance...to the Starter's failure to remind his crew to apply a lead...to the attendants thinking 'she'll be right mate'... ...when it wasn't The other thing about this is the extraordinarily dangerous situation of wire fences with thin piping...especially at the point of corners This mare was following the perimeter fence then failed to sight the pipe fence while observing the stables in the distance....she saw the fence very late...tried to adapt but hit the pipe then wire some 5M from the corner.... ...even cheap sighter boards slung over the piped fence would have alerted her to the dangerous wire fence... Many in the industry believe WHITE is the ideal colour to alert Horses but research shows the dominant colour for a horse is the Blue/yellow spectrum... ...and that's why the British Horseracing Authority has decided to use Fluorescent Yellow as their preferred colour on Hurdle sighter boards...instead of white...including the Guide Rails.... In summary...2 things could have saved her...you know what they are now
  8. And of course the hopeless RIU and Godber...who has no idea about Thoroughbreds...coming from a Harness background... ...simply keeps repeating the same old Mantra when it comes to the appalling Northern Race Day Services...and the rest of the Barrier Crew cockups ...like he did last week on the Radio "if only everyone did their jobs we'd be ok" No Mike totally wrong....instead of the confused situation of Clubs employing Barrier Staff as they do now...someone or a BODY...not your hopeless secreting organisation... takes COMPLETE control of these OUT OF CONTROL crews... ...train them up to World Standard...not Country hick standard...demand Starters sit their Manual test.... ...make sure ALL Barrier Staff know basic safety standards like attaching a lead and/or pulling the rein over heads... ...and any new staff...making sure they know the BASICS... such as ATTACHING A LEAD...so we won't be having any more totally AVOIDABLE deaths Like the mare CARRELEUR...who suffered needlessly due to the carelessness of the NORTHERN RACE DAY SERVICES staff.
  9. Shocking stats these...And Bernard Saundry can't wait for the introduction... Up, up, up… that’s the story when it comes to market percentages on Australian racing over the past few years. There’s been a raft of changes that have affected betting markets, and punters have copped it in the neck. In an effort to get an idea of the issues, we’ve compared the market percentages on all Victorian thoroughbred racing across the past few years. As the most freely available data, we’ve used the official SP as the measure – so the figures don’t take into account market percentages earlier in betting. September 2016 was when Racing Victoria introduced their new calculation for the official SP. Prior to this, it was gathered using on-course price data. The current calculation uses data from corporate bookmakers. Minimum bet limits were introduced shortly after, taking effect from October 2016. The data used is the average market percentage (using official SP) of all Victorian thoroughbred races We’ve also included the annual averages to better illustrate the year-on-year increases: • FY2017 (starting September): 117.4% • FY2018: 117.8% • FY2019 (to May 21st): 120.3% So the market percentage on official SP is now topping 120% for the first time. And it hasn’t stopped increasing yet. The point-of-consumption tax was introduced in Victoria on January 1st. Since then, average market percentage at official SP has been 121.1% – a considerable increase on the 118.1% for the total pre-POCT period from Sep-16 to Dec-18. The numbers are clear: punters are paying the price for continually increasing taxes and fees on racing. Higher percentages, lower dividends, lower returns are what punters are now battling with.
  10. Oh cmon hasbeen... Baldy is only doing a favour to his mates in the Queen's City...who march to work on this stuff... ...imagine having to drive on blocked roads...thanks to the Knats...without some sustenance?? The Queen's City has twice the usage of the Mighty Wackatoo...so why don't you lay off us...eh?
  11. Oh that... When the RIU send the incompetent Northern Race Day Services personnel a written warning saying... ..."strongly remind your crew of their obligations" You can take it as read the Standard Starting Protocols were broken when it comes to securing a safe Equine working environment... ..that includes attaching leads to upset horses when removing them...and/or pulling reins over the head... Do you want the email?
  12. They deal with 'wilful neglect'.... ...this was 'ignorant incompetence'...failing to follow basic horsemanship as laid down per the Standard Barrier Starting Manual for dealing with the safe handling and care aspect ...it's like the ELLERSLIE Derby starter not following the Standard Manual by having the application of the Barrier Blanket on the designated Starters Card...simply relying on his own memory...which didn't work...so that he failed the Industry....miserably This was far worse incompetence...resulting in the horrific death of CARRELUER... And then secreted by both NZTR and the hopeless RIU.... ...embarrassed to release the 'Coronial Inquiry', where normally stakeholders can have faith there was no human element to any death...which in this case there was ZERO TRANSPARENCY then....hidden away to avoid NORTHERN RACE DAY SERVICES and their staff being shamed by the damning find...
  13. Sensational betting fields for Wingas on Friday! Just pm moi if you want winners!
  14. Doesn't she pre train for Latta as well as part time Riding master for the CD...raising 2 daughters and trains one for herself too!
  15. And now the dreadful NZRB are giving away free bets on Sport.... ...to the THOROUGHBRED Punters who were solely horse only.... This from an organisation set up for the betterment of those in the Thoroughbred Industry...not the f in Basketball Industry
  16. Please don't destroy another thread thanx Bogans....you and grass continually did it and in fact Herman was palpably wrong when he blamed innocent moi... btw bazzo...wtf has happened to your "horrendous run" tipping masterclass(es) You got down to 12 bucks from 20 on another 'HR' ...then spat the dummy it would appear? Given up?
  17. You're right it was terrible viewing...the camera soon panned off and Popplewell was left speechless... ...of course that's all that anyone in the industry saw and heard... The 'Investigation' in these circumstances is secreted...as per the hopeless RIU's TOTAL LACK OF TRANSPARENCY... Imagine a Human Coronial Inquiry being secreted after it was found Human Error contributed to a death? Publishing a Coronial Inquiry not only establishes what happened to avoid further deaths..But embarrasses the organisation that was at fault as part of its punishment... ...or the entire Industry just brushes it off as 'one of those freak accidents' When it wasn't... It was however...TOTALLY AVOIDABLE
  18. Crikey where to start..at the risk of showing me age.... Early on with Kevin Gray...LACERATION...won 9 on her...CLASSIC BAY first stakes race...3 Country Cups on DIASTINA.. ...and her first G 1 win TRICKAVABOY.. 3 Parliamentary's with ANGEL EYES and 2 with LACERATION Over to Singapore/Malaysia riding for the famous Teh Choon Beng becoming the first female to win the Premiership... ...all time fav neddy a grouse looking Grey..BATMAN! First female to ride in HK...had 3 rides at Longchamp! Anything else?
  19. Just surround yourself wid da Gen X....hang outside school gates or similar... Youll pick it up Bagan az = really really bogan as a bogan can get like Bazz wid = with relly relly = really figjam = f***^ I'm good just ask moi fat o gram = a relly relly fat person like a Hound security guard...sitting on your lap probably running fingers through your combover while music plays...and their fat ass has only a g-string on...with possible hot air bursts disseminating its way over your pants... Iconic = massive history that's massively attached to da race totes = not behind the tote with a blonde but TOTALLY Humiliating dismantling = red faced Thoroughbred peeps watching while Rome burns Peeps = people Anything else...look up the Urban Dic. Ok?
  20. What didn't you understand...FAT O GRAM?? Ive had one and it's totes not nice..just ignore anything that's over your head though Remember you're old az and may not understand relly relly fun stufff best
  21. So this is about the awful death of the horse CARRELEUR last month at the mid week Matamata races... I was alerted to this by someone closely connected to the shocking death and the circumstances that led to the mare being euthanised...Ive been provided with the pre race video that showed the terrible sight of the mare colliding with the outside fence... ...close to the stabling area on the turn...galloping along the outer perimeter fence in the opposite direction... ...her near side shoulder sliding along the pipe and diamond wire fence as she failed to negotiate the change of angle to the perimeter... ..where her skin was then stripped completely off the shoulder...suffering extensive deep lacerations...too severe to save her... It was a shocking sight.. A few seconds before this...The mare was fractious in the stalls and about to be released to undergo a Vet exam...but not so bad that the situation required an emergency release to save either horse or Jockey... The attendant was up with her with another standing alongside...instead of the accepted standard procedure of slipping the reins forward over the head and attaching a lead... ...she was realeased without either safety measure being applied... ..the other attendant then snatched the rein on the fast backing mare...to which CARRELEUR took fright and bolted...galloping along the outer perimeter fence and to her ultimate death TOTALLY AVOIDABLE.... ...contributed largely by the fact the Barrier Attendants failed to follow accepted safety procedures when dealing with horses being handled at the start... AGAIN adding to the woeful year of these Barrier Crews...mostly the fault of the NORTHERN RACEDAY SERVICES company...the crew who think they know best...and as detailed in the previous thread... This TRAGIC DEATH deserved its own thread...which also highlights the.... ZERO TRANSPARENCY both NZTR and the woeful RIU wanted this dealt with...swept under the carpet...ZERO PUBLIC dissemination of the results of the 'investigation' That simply found it was a tragic accident...that could have been avoided.. At least the woeful crew employed by NORTHERN RACE DAY SERVICES were STRONGLY REPRIMANDED over their ignorance... Fat lot of good that did to save CARRELEUR's life where the sight of her fate will live with those who saw it forever... The only acceptable outcome of this sorry affair would be that ALL Barrier Attendants should be required to be tested and thus reminded of the safety requirements of their job... Not some Post death action that may last a few months before they ignore safety protocols again...
  22. It's bad enough that Trackside is treating the superior THOROUGHBRED Industry with disdain by cancelling the Weigh In season after the last G1 is run...no Review show for 5 months now ...even though the Iconic Easter Handicap was still to run...wtf? But rubbing it in the THOROUGHBRED code faces by still continuing with Guerin Poncing it with Figjam Sth Is. Guy....him wid da Grey hair... And then relly relly rubbing it in with the Bogan az hound code...complete with fat o grams, mullets and moustaches....yuck...that show Its not only nausea inducing but humiliating... Oh but promoting the Arstralian Thoroughbred code...even though the NZRB is set up to "promote the NZ Thoroughbred"..showing their one.. FFS...why do we tolerate this humiliating dismantling of the superior THOROUGHBRED sport?
  23. Cmon boyz... ...this is about 'HAZEL' and how great it is the olde world names are making a comeback... ...and How potentially good Hazel the Jockey is... ..it ain't about yous Bogans expounding bogan barryz theory...ok? The other great thing that Big Red Did was send Hazel over to Jockey school close to NGH Handbrake Harry...rather than Bogansville Naki... ...luckily she didn't pick up his smoking technique... but his excellent tutelage has obviously rubbed off... NGH was still tutoring Haze as she was walking down the race after winning.... The other hilarious thing to come out of this was the Silver Haired devil Coppins trying to put words into Big Red's mouth on the wire lessss "cmon Red...that Billy could have been anything couldn't he...he might come back..you'll give him another chance maybe..Red?? "Na Na and na...never was much good to be fear" Ouch...don't mess wid da Red boyz
  24. So what about a White Supremacist Jockey...riding against the many Muslim Jockeys we have riding here... ..and that "they're all going to Hell" on his face book page or tweet Just ignore it? Na...that's why employment contracts include clauses like Folau's....and he signed the 'general' one... of "you won't bring the sport into disrepute" Licensed persons in the Racing Industry include that...'free speech' does not include bringing the Industry into disrepute then... ...no matter what a Liberal Massey Uni grad tells himself... Nobody takes any notice of a Neville nobody posting bile....and Folau and White Supremacist Jockeys aren't in that category
  25. Now listen up shrew... If I've shown you 3 times I'll show you again how to block one...moi Go to moi's icon...place your tongue in the 'O'...lick back and forf...relly relly fast...and by magic you'll rub me out.... Just do it....
