I have no idea, I’d assume not to anything like they were saying as their pre monopoly. The platform is a bit average for live betting.

Good post. Totally agree, absolutely fanciful to think the bulk of turnover would just transfer to the TAB while ignoring the reasons it wasn’t bet with them in the first place. Unless of course every person betting overseas was a problem gambler which would then fall foul of there problem gambling rules (which is apparently one of the reasons the legislation change was needed).

Yes but it will be ok to wager on that cruel and dangerous sport in the future from overseas venues we just can’t condone it in New Zealand.

Totally agree, hypocrisy of the highest ordered. It’s such a cruel and barbaric sport we need to ban it in our country but wagering on it overseas is fine. Makes no sense to me.

Exactly, they are contracted to run the wagering side of the business. You’d suspect it’s all bluster and it’s actually the tax payer who will stump up for it one way or another.

I found the 16 points up being paid out as a winner on 365 quite good. Haven’t had a bet on the nrl since the ban. My spend certainly hasn’t increased with the tab since the ban.

I was there today, the ground sold out. I’m not sure what more you want them to do? They put an event on and people turned up. The game on the field was a little bit disappointing due to Thames not firing a shot and it pretty quickly turning into an opposed training run. I’m not having a crack at you but the days of crowds anything like that for a shield or NPC match are long long gone, life gets busy and technology makes it easier to not go to events.

Another issue I am running into is options disappearing as the game is about to go live. Yesterday all options were closed a couple of mins before kick off and today a game has completely disappeared before it’s about to start. It’s not showing under next to go or in play either.

I tried to get a live bet on a cricket match today. 4 attempts and one suspension for a single a long the ground and we got there. Hopefully they sort it soon as it’s a massive pain.

I’d be interested to know what advice if any was taken from the Commerce commission in relation to the creation of the monopoly.

I joined up to just to see what the story was with it. I think I may have got the odd update but I don’t recall any of the horses racing and I don’t really see the point of it to be honest and don’t think it’s achieving what it set out to.

I personally don't think I will spend any more than I already did with the TAB. In fact I may even spend less as I won't be putting as much time into looking at the odds and working out where I see value. I do a bit of live betting as I can often find value there or even arbitrage opportunities, obviously the latter becomes more difficult with one operator and I do find there website live delays quite frustrating. I would suspect the type of punters they will pick up are the ones betting into your first try scorer and sports multi markets. I have shares in 4 horses at present, I am fairly confident these will be my last four (not because of this decision) as I am loosing a bit of interest in racing and the Entain money will run out in a few years.

Yip and how long do you think those youngsters are going to put up with the shabby platform and numerous delays placing live bets on a fast moving sport before they find a way around the ban.

That’s my frustration I often live bet on basketball, it’s fast paced. With the tab it generally takes at least 3 attempts to get the bet accepted.
