  1. That’s before my time. It’s not all bad these days. I’ll bet you couldn’t have a bet on a race from Las Piedras Uruguay or Izmir Turkey back then.
  2. Next they will be letting the out the gate boys get on for amount they like even though they finished the year in “profit land”.
  3. He might have to adopt 10 greyhounds come the end of July next year.
  4. I’m sure if you walked into Rangiora TAB and danced the way you do when the out the gate boys win then they would.
  5. Are you meaning re homing in general or for once racing ceases?
  6. I’m inclined to agree with that. I fell into the age bracket in this thread up until a few years ago. Can’t say any of my mates have the slightest interest in racing bar the odd day on course once every year or so. They all sports bet regularly, particularly live betting. Racing has a golden opportunity during COVID to grab that market when it and the Belarus football league were about the only sports running. In my opinion they didn’t grab that opportunity.
  7. I don’t consider myself to be any particular type of punter. Walk into any bar or sports club before the ban and see what people in them were using to bet.
  8. When were you appointed spokesperson for the average punters association? If they don’t care why were they betting offshore in the first place?
  9. I think everyone knows that there are other options if you can be bothered or a bit more savvy but for your average punter it’s a monopoly.
  10. Spending 6 hours meeting characters at a local tab outlet, such as Hastings TAB on a Saturday afternoon?
  11. To be fair to Aaron it probably did well to get as close as it did when it basically galloped the whole race.
  12. Any dancing moves in your lounge tonight @Brodie?
  13. Well given providing a safe gambling environment and paying the problem gambling levy was one of the reasons we were told a monopoly was needed.
  14. There are requirements on staff to check in with people playing the pokies and ask questions etc at various time frames or if they get cash out a certain number of times, the machines are also required to stop every so often. Can’t say I’ve ever heard of anything like that in relation to the TAB in an agency or pub. I’m not sure on the actual exclusion process for either though.
  15. Yes I was using the terminal. I’m not sure re bet limit sorry once I saw the option I wasn’t interested and stopped paying to much attention to it.
  16. How can we be sure this wasn’t the Broadster in disguise and talking with an Australian accent to get past his heavy restrictions?
  17. I saw one today. There was a yellow star (from memory) next to the race. I clicked on it and there was a terminal only option of El Vencador boosted from $1.55 to $1.70.
  18. I’m lead to believe the Broadster is a former two time Rangiora line dancing champion so he will appreciate the celebration.
  19. @Brodie what are you more impressed with? There punting ability or there celebrations when they win?
  20. Yip I agree, it’s about appealing to a different market and attempting to generate more revenue.
  21. I was to busy dancing in my lounge celebrating to know what they bet on or how much they won. At this rate they will be more restricted than the Broadster in no time.
  22. @Brodie Apologies for the delay, we want to thank you for your patience as we arrive in PROFIT LAND 🛬 Just like the Wahs, you've gotta have faith, and the boys have repaid that faith 3x 💰💰💰 Out The Gate, powered by Betcha NZ. Same time next week. Let's do it all again 🙌
  23. I made a bit of money backing Just an Excuse when Elsu was always a hot favourite
  24. I would have though your heavy heavy heavy restrictions were more of an issue to you making money on the punt.
  25. I heard they had already engraved the Broadsters name on the trophy.
