A few more questions You rate all the races in NZ why? When you hardly bet on NZ racing I live in OZ and see you rate even the country races do you do all these ratings yourself? How many horses would you find value with say on a Saturday and back in NZ and Australia? as I don’t do the UK
-
OK since I’m in practice mode for the next 3 months I’ll take that on board I’ll set aside over 100% and over 120 of course all my 120s will be in my over 100s and see how I go I also use Betfair but find it difficult to get set on NZ racing Anyway just need to figure out what units I apply Its going to be an interesting exercise Find your passion and you never work a day in your life

I’m starting to understand now how irrelevant it is to assess a horses chance through a gear change
-
I was thinking the same thing could you incorporate it into your bet if you used odds boost price pump etc

I have 3 kids 5 TV,s in my house one certain TV is sacred never to be used by anyone but myself lol It all started from the wife complaining that’s not fair no one else in the house can watch TV don’t be so selfish So I fixed it everyone now has a TV

Brilliant Basil I have no problem rating a field just arriving at value I had no understanding this explains it perfectly Will practice over the next 3 months to see how I go Good thread Rod you’re not over the hill yet Basil loved your post going back quite a few months on how when the internet first came out and your land line was tied up all day I could relate to that myself so much easier now

Once you have assessed the form and set your market you have the choice to back or lay Do you back more or lay more? Is there value in betting in the running? Have I asked too many questions? Ok i’ll Shut up!!!
-
When assessing the form do you need to assess every horse in the race? Obviously you abide and apply a set of principles to each runner then set the prices to 100% then you compare your market to the actual market to find value What principles are a given Track conditions Distance Starts at the track Fresh up record, how many starts into its prep is its best performance Jockey / change of jockey Pace or lack of it in the race Barrier draw Age? Class rise or drop based on your own opinion Time the horse ran eg a horse winning in 55.7 at Hawkesbury over 1000mtrs doesn’t mean it’s going to measure up against a horse say that wins in 56.9 over 1000mtrs at Randwick Which are the most important above and which are irrelevant and have I missed any of note
-
Down in class surely this is an individuals assessment it’s up to you to decide on the ability of the horse and the field it’s up against
-
I’ve read on here some people don’t do form can you find value if you don’t do form?
-
Is there value laying horses at 1.01 is the strike rate more than 1 in a hundred
-
Do you bet on Sport or just racing?

Yip he’s gonna be a blues player for years to come

I would look at signing Penrith/Kiwi young gun Jarome Luai He has only just signed a new 2 year deal with Penrith but as we know contracts aren’t worth the paper they’re written on Besides he is still behind Cleary and Maloney

No longer am I a Te Akau Shark fan besides there’s only one TAS The Autumn Sun

Yip I can hear it now 2020 Melbourne Cup 300 to go and Johnson shot Felar to the front and shot away 3 lengths the champ Da Kause getting out its Felar 2 in front Da Kause trying ever so hard and here’s the BOOM horse Hesinator and the Nillers they hit the line PHOTO
-
I think I’ve come up with a name for a band or even a future Melbourne Cup winner We’ve heard of the name Henry The Navigator How about “ Hesinator and the Nillers”it’s got a certain ring to it don’t you think ?
-
They bought Blake Green paid ridiculous overs covered their arse by saying he will take the pressure of Johnson Warriors make the 8 first time in 7 years and then and then and then like I said one step forward 2 steps backwards now we’re left with a 30 something Green on 600k plus a season who was brought over to help Johnson SJ had a much better season in 2018 Warriors will finish bottom 4 mark my word
-
There is no dumber club (possibly one) than the Warriors They take one step forward and then 2 steps back It’s only a matter of time before they are re-located to Perth and become the Western Warriors the NRL are introducing a team to WA 2023 I think there are quite a few Kiwis living there Like Newmarket said put a few dollars on them winning the spoon for 2019 I Have backed them to miss the 8 I think you can still get $1-80 that’s free money and 11-1 for the spoon Also like Newmarket said back whichever team Johnson signs with Warriors halves have a knack of leaving the club and winning premierships Nathan Fien joined St George won a premiership James Maloney won with the Roosters and the Sharks Chad Townsend won with the Sharks Cameron George is clueless and the person responsible for bringing him their even more clueless As the Warriors struggle to win games in 2019 the fans will start voting with their feet you need an 11,000 crowd to break even this club is destined for bankruptcy the NRL has said in no uncertain terms they will not bail anyone out now Because the Warriors earn the NRL a fair amount of coin through TV rights they will not let them fold they will be re-located to WA Letting Their star playmaker go is playing Russian Roulette As that pathetic saying goes Keep The Faith it’s only a matter of time

Good point I think Pop Rock and Delta Blues slashing Caulfield Cup runs are still fresh in my mind, they went on to quinella the MC I usually don’t get involved with the Internationals until I know they’re in quarantine and heading for Aus Straight after the race I put Kiseki in my 2019 Caulfield Cup folder If I could choose one horse to come down under in 2019 it would be Enable for the CP but that’s highly unlikely as well wishful thinking on my behalf?
-
Super run, I would love to back both in the Caulfield Cup next October
-
Nice selection Had a great run very easy on the eye Hope you made plenty
